Planning Update

Posted in KONOS

Welcome! I just thought I would share about the planning I have been working on for our upcoming school year.

We will officially begin our "new" school year on July 31st. I always try to buy some special school supplies and other goodies to give the kids the first day of school. Sometimes, we also have a treasure hunt with clues for each child to follow to find their goody bag/basket.

I also take pictures of the kids for their "first day of school". Last year I took pictures of the kids outside the front door coming into the house! It was fun and made for cute pictures for their scrapbooks! We will do the same this year, especially since we are in a new house now!

Here is the outline of my plans for our KONOS units this year, I will add details as far as activities, etc. as I get closer to each unit. This week I am working on planning out the unit we will start on July 31st which will take us through August. Cleaning off school bookshelves, re-organizing supplies & books and pulling together needed items for our first unit are some of the other items on my to-do list for the coming week!

2006-2007

September thru December -- Stewardship -- Africa (in a bag style)

February - May -- Vol.II  -- Courage -- American Revolution

June -- July (part) -- Vol.III -- Resourcefulness-- Inventions/Simple Machines

We are looking forward to a fun and exciting new school year! The month of  July we will continue working on "basics" for a couple of weeks and then have a couple of weeks off for vacation time with Daddy. We plan to visit the beach during our vacation which should be a fun trip!

I will be hosting a KONOS planning seminar in my home on July 8th. This will a half day seminar for learning how to plan/schedule your homeschool year and actually work on planning out a KONOS unit with help. For more information about our local support group, visit: www.konokarats.com
