Write out some goals that you would like to accomplish. These goals should include your personal goals, but also goals as a family. While setting goals, try to write out small attainable rewards for each goal accomplished!
1. Be more consistent with my personal devotion time. I'm very consistent to study the Bible with the kids, but too often let my own time slip by.
2. Put together a better organized plan for getting chores done! I have a post started about this one that I plan to post after Christmas. I'll need your ideas ladies!
3. Spend more family nights away from the television. It's too easy to pop some popcorn, turn on a movie and call it family time. We have a closet full of games that need to be played more often.
4. Along the same lines, I'd like to take more family trips. Day trips for hiking or the children's museum or a baseball game. Nothing fancy, just more whole family fun.
5. Be a happier family. We grumble way too much around here.
6. Plant (and take care of) a large garden and put up many more of the fruits, veggies and pickles than I did last summer. I'm already running out of most of my stash from this past summer.
7. Take better care of the outside of my house. With a new baby, I didn't plant, weed or water very well at all. The outside of my house is not very inviting right now because of it. This is a must-do goal!
8. And finally, we need to exercise more as a family. Walks, aerobics, tennis, jump rope, whatever. Laziness has hit our home in subtle ways. I believe more exercise might just take care of a few of my previous goals - happier family, getting chores done, working in the garden and taking care of the outside of the house. When I'm healthier and more active, I tend to get so much more accomplished and have a better attitude to boot!
Many blessings on your new year and may you accomplish all your goals!
