Well so far this year there have been a few new additions to the home library:

Hot Words for the SAT by Linda Carnevale  (Great teaching tool, has you teaching the kids vocabulary  words in clusters which fosters exponential vocabulary growth..this is unlike linear vocabulary building which involves learning one isolated, alpabetized word at a time. Exponentially building vocabulary involves dynamically associated clusters of words, with varying nuances or shades of meaning within the cluster...for example our first lesson from this book is as follows:

WORDS RELATING TO USING FEW WORDS OR BEING QUIET

Brevity, Concise, Laconic, Pithy, Quiescent, Reticent, Succinct, Taciturn, Terse  <--- cluster of words with similar meanings, but with nuances of differences within those meanings

EVEN MY 9 YEAR OLD CAN DO THIS!! This is great, I don't have to dumb down any of the reading or language arts for him. He's such a little brain, I love that little stinker! hehheheh

Ok so I also bought the CollegeBoard SAT "The Official SAT Study Guide" which has 8 practice tests, and helps with preparation for the SAT essay and there is also PSAT review in there (I also have the Peterson's PSAT guide too for that)

And let's not forget the fact that sitting on my bookself is also the Kaplan 2007 gold edition SAT ACT PSAT Test Prep Software. We've got all angles covered here back at the ranch hehehhehe

God I love being a NERD!! LOL  Last night the book club I started met at my friend Diane's house. And now I have a few friends from out of state who want me to begin an online forum of the book club so they can participate via the internet. Funny huh? I love my nerdy friends too hehehehhe We had Chai tea and I made brownies (let's not talk about that LOL because they were not my best batch but all the ladies were like "THESE ARE GREAT" and I was like, "YAH RIGHT!!!" lol, oh well, they love me that's all that matters I guess hehhehh)  We just finished The Time Traveler's Wife...and the next selection is THE LOVELY BONES by Alice Sebold.
