WholeHearted Homeschooling

September 15, 2005 - Wholehearted greetings!

For anyone who happens to stop by, I just want you to know two things for now: 1) I'm glad you did, and 2)  I'll write some more...sometime. We are swamped in projects at Whole Heart, and this blog is on the projects list, so check back...sometime. I look forward to discussing wholehearted learning and the joy of books and reading with you. If you don't know about Whole Heart Ministries, visit us at Whole Heart Online. Wholehearted blessings to you in your journey of home education and Christian parenting.

March 2, 2006 - Keep far from the reckless path!

Posted by Canice
My children and I are reading through the Old Testament. I wanted to share something that "jumped out at us" today.

God commanded Balaam to go to King Balak, knowing that Balak wanted Balaam to curse God's chosen people, Israel. We read that when Balaam got up and went, God became angry with him. Why? It seemed that Balaam was only doing what God had commanded him to do?

The story goes that an Angel of the Lord was standing there in the road with a sword drawn, ready to oppose Balaam. The donkey sees this angel, but Balaam doesn't. After three times being beat by Balaam for not acting right, the Lord opened the donkey's mouth and caused him to speak! The funny part is, Balaam is arguing with the donkey! Doesn't he NOTICE that this animal is TALKING?

God opens the eyes of Balaam and he too is able to see this Angel of the Lord, standing there in his path, sword drawn! He hears this message:

Numbers 22:32b
I have come here to oppose you because your path is a reckless one before me.
(NIV)

What was Balaam doing that God considered to be "RECKLESS?"
Maybe God knew that Balaam would fall into the temptation to sin, and to actually take the bribe from Balak, and speak curses on God's chosen people? The Bible doesn't say.

I am reminded of the "Reckless Path" that we find ourselves on.
God wants us to do all things for His glory, as unto the Lord.
We need to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, the auther and perfector of our faith.
Anything else might be considered "RECKLESS!"

Thank you, Sally, for your faithfulness to write and share what the Lord puts on your heart.

To God be the glory!
Canice

I've always cherished the words you share and am constantly encouraged to be a better woman of God because of them. I will certainly continue to pray for your ministry and I anxiously (in a good way) await a new book from you. God Bless Whole Hearted Ministry.

March 2, 2006 - Prayer

Posted by Anonymous
Sally,

You are being lifted before the Lord in prayer this month!

May He grant you and the girls a safe and hassle-free journey with rest along the way. May He watch over your loved ones at home and keep them safe and healthy, your mother also. May He give you wisdom and clear-thinking while speaking to mothers in Australia and New Zealand. May you also be blessed with a few quiet moments of relaxation and renewing each day with a cup of tea!

You are a tremendous blessing. Never forget that.

A friend in Virginia.

I just got the e-mail newsletter and almost missed the part where you were starting a blog! How wonderful. I hope that this will be as much as an encouragment to you as it has been to me. I know your books have blessed my life tremendously and I'm sure your ministry with blogging here will bless others.
In Christ,

Hi Sally!

I just read your e-newsletter which had the link to your blog here. :) I will be adding you as a "friend" and will check back soon. I've had the privilege of hearing you speak three different times, and I've read all of your books. You are like my Titus 2 woman... as I have not always had a role model of how to bring my children up in the faith, you have been that for me in many ways.

Thanks for your transparency and your great encouragement to, not just me, but to many homeschooling moms all over!

I will be praying for your family and you!
Many blessings,
Lisa
