Roses and Tea

Nov. 22, 2006 - Happy Thanksgiving

I love Thanksgiving, we do not have this holiday in my country.  After being here all of these years and knowing about its history, I have learned to love and appreciate this particular holiday. As I reflect upon it....  I'm reminded of the high cost for freedom paid by the Pilgrims, through their love and devotion to the Holy One, in order to serve, honor and live for Him.  I am amazed of the their courage to endure much persecution, hunger, cold, sickness, and even prison because of Truth.

I am also amazed of the fact that, very few families make a point of remembering all of this. Some barely thank God for much. We take so much for granted!  We tend to rely on our own strength and forget that it is the Holy One who provides health and work from which we enjoy food, shelter and prosperity.

I love the following ancient Jewish prayer: "Blessed are You  O Lord our God, King of the Universe who brings fruit from the vine and bread from the earth."

I am thankful for: food, shelter, health, transportation, work, family, friends, my wonderful husband and daughter, for this country I call home, for freedom to worship God and most of all, for eternal life through Yeshua our Messiah.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Thank you for your comment today at my blog. :) I'm blessed to have a new friend too!

You are right, too few recognize His blessings and even fewer seem to recognize Him. It is sad, to be sure. But that makes the Light in our lives all the more necessary to shine before ALL men that they may see our good works and glorify our Father Who is in heaven. One day every knee will bow and ever tongue confess, but until that day we need to remember that our light needs to shine bright.

I'm thankful for so much, and today that's all I can think of! I am so tremendously blessed, I'm bursting!

Blessings on you and your house.

Thank you for posting on my blog. I agree that people have forgotten what Thanksgiving is all about. Thanksgiving has became too much about football and turkey, which those things are OK, but they should not overshadow the faith in God that the Pilgrims showed by coming to America and the sacrificing for their beliefs. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

About Me

This Blog is about my life and the different adventures that I experience being a wife, homeschooling mother, homemaker, friend, and daughter of the king of the Universe. I am a follower of Yeshua (Jesus' name in Hebrew) He was born a Jew and lived as a Jew on this earth. It's because of him, and his incredible love towards me, that my ashes were turned into beauty. I'm a native of Brazil. I have been married to my DH, for 22 years. We met while he was there on a Mission's trip. We have one wonderful 13 years DD.
