Nov. 22, 2006 - Happy Thanksgiving
I love Thanksgiving, we do not have this holiday in my country. After being here all of these years and knowing about its history, I have learned to love and appreciate this particular holiday. As I reflect upon it.... I'm reminded of the high cost for freedom paid by the Pilgrims, through their love and devotion to the Holy One, in order to serve, honor and live for Him. I am amazed of the their courage to endure much persecution, hunger, cold, sickness, and even prison because of Truth.
I am also amazed of the fact that, very few families make a point of remembering all of this. Some barely thank God for much. We take so much for granted! We tend to rely on our own strength and forget that it is the Holy One who provides health and work from which we enjoy food, shelter and prosperity.
I love the following ancient Jewish prayer: "Blessed are You O Lord our God, King of the Universe who brings fruit from the vine and bread from the earth."
I am thankful for: food, shelter, health, transportation, work, family, friends, my wonderful husband and daughter, for this country I call home, for freedom to worship God and most of all, for eternal life through Yeshua our Messiah.
Happy Thanksgiving!
