Blogger Friend School Assignment #21 Hands
Part 1: Our hands play a very important role in our lives and sometimes we take such things for granted. Take a picture of your hands and post it to your blog.
Part 2: The deeper part of the assignment is just to think about the importance of each part of your body and how its perfect creation has blessed you.
Unfortunately, I can't post a picture of my hands.
I thank my creator for the use of my hands! My hands and feet are exactly the same as my mother's. As I age, they look-a-like even more. What an honor to be like my mother! I hope to go home soon and take a picture of her 82 years old hands. She has very precious, wise hands, they have worked very hard throughout her lifetime.
Our hands are wonderfully made, they can hold multiple things at the same time. But, what would be a hand without an arm?
Recently, I had a tennis elbow, I could not use my right hand because of my painful elbow. It became a chore to even pick my purse, or put on some of my clothes ..... By my doctor's orders I had to be still, rest, take a break from: crocheting, sewing, lifting heavy things, computer...... Sometimes I had to use my left hand, Oh, what a chore! .........It's amazing how an elbow can keep your hand from being fruitful!
As I was thinking of this assignment, a couple of passages of scriptures came to my mind. They are out of Romans and Corinthians. We can not function by ourselves, as my hand could function without my elbow. I just love the way Paul makes a parallel in between the physical human body and the spiritual greater body of Messiah. I thought I would post some verses, it really pays to refresh our memories by reading the whole passage.
I Corinthians 12:14 .......25. so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. 26 If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.
Romans 12:1 ...... 4. Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, 5so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.
How is true this is! Sometimes we believers take for granted the gifts each one of us have. Out of our own selfishness and pride, we end up hurting people, or keep them from producing fruit for the kingdom.
The word hands is mentioned 439 times in the KJV, 462 times in the NIV and 506 times in the NASB.
