Roses and Tea

May. 1, 2007 - May this be our prayer today.....

As I was thinking of what I should write about, none of my post sound good for today, I thought of at least four different topics. But, this song is what my heart just ached for . May you will be blessed as you read these wonderful words. This is a hymn by Charles Wesley. He wrote over 6,000 hymns. Charles and his brother John were the founders of the Methodist Church. Remember I had a post with a quote from their mother a while back?

O for a heart to praise my God,
by Charles Wesley

O for a heart to praise my God,
A heart from sin set free,
A heart that always feels Thy blood
So freely shed for me.

A heart resigned, submissive, meek,
My great Redeemer’s throne,
Where only Christ is heard to speak,
Where Jesus reigns alone.

A humble, lowly, contrite, heart,
Believing, true and clean,
Which neither life nor death can part
From Christ who dwells within.

A heart in every thought renewed
And full of love divine,
Perfect and right and pure and good,
A copy, Lord, of Thine.

Thy tender heart is still the same,
And melts at human woe:
Jesus, for thee distressed I am,
I want Thy love to know.

My heart, Thou know’st, can never rest
Till Thou create my peace;
Till of mine Eden repossest,
From self, and sin, I cease.

Fruit of Thy gracious lips, on me
Bestow that peace unknown,
The hidden manna, and the tree
Of life, and the white stone.

Thy nature, gracious Lord, impart;
Come quickly from above;
Write Thy new name upon my heart,
Thy new, best name of Love.

I tried to post a comment yesterday, but then it wouldn't "stick". So here I go again. lol

Okay, I sang the song (not too loudly - but it is one that crys out to be sang with power). I love it. It gave me chills down my spine. Thanks for sharing that.

ps - I think you had asked whether we have any chickens, and maybe you noticed, I just added a chicken picture to my slide show, but yes, we are down to just 3 hens now, but will be either hatching chicks or buying some after we return from vacation. The girls want to hatch, dh says to just buy them - we'll see who wins out. lol

What a beautiful post for me to read this morning as we are about to leave for the hospital. Thank you...you have ministered to my soul.

PS...I love your pantry description. Is it hard to find some foods you love here in Indiana? Fresh fruits are not like those in other parts of our country, I've heard.

About Me

This Blog is about my life and the different adventures that I experience being a wife, homeschooling mother, homemaker, friend, and daughter of the king of the Universe. I am a follower of Yeshua (Jesus' name in Hebrew) He was born a Jew and lived as a Jew on this earth. It's because of him, and his incredible love towards me, that my ashes were turned into beauty. I'm a native of Brazil. I have been married to my DH, for 22 years. We met while he was there on a Mission's trip. We have one wonderful 13 years DD.
