"Don't worry about anything; on the contrary, make your requests known to God by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving. Then God's shalom, passing all understanding, will keep your hearts and minds safe in union with the Messiah Yeshua." Philippians 4:6-7 (CJB)

Letters Of a Woman Homesteader by Elinore Pruitt Stewart
Wow!!!! I thought I needed to post this long overdue post. I was very busy the week before and last week with the preparations before our trip to Ohio to be with family for Thanksgiving. We had a nice safe trip and a fun time visiting all of our family.
I feel like I am going around circles ever since school started. I just can't seem to be able to catch up with things....After I came back from Brazil I thought I could just Blog a couple of days a week, this has been next to impossible. The next couple of weeks are going to be very busy for me with the Holidays preparations and the making of gifts. After much thought on this I have decided that I needed to take some time off from Blogland, just a couple of weeks. Hoping to be back soon with lots accomplished
Before I go, I would like to pass on some Awards that are long overdue.
My sweet friend Bakerswife, (AKA Mama Karen) honored me with the "Blogging with a Purpose" award. Thank you so much Mama Karen, I was deeply touched by your sweet words. Thank you for being such a encourager, you are a blessing to me! ((((Brazilian hugs))))
Eric Novak came out with the Christian award, "Blogging with a Purpose" in April, 2007. Eric felt that with so much focus on secular awards a Christian blogging award was needed.
The scripture verse which inspired Eric to create this award is Matthew 5:13:
"You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has become tasteless, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled under foot by men. Matthew 5:13 NASB
There are a few rules to abide by for those who are nominated for the "Blogging with a Purpose" award.
1. Awarded parties must nominate five people who have not received the award.
2. The blogs that receive the award must serve some purpose.
3. In their post about the award they need to link back to this entry.
4. Awarded parties must post the award banner on their site.
I believe there are many wonderful Christian bloggers out there who are being SALT and LIGHT. Because I have to nominate only five bloggers, I chose to promote some newer friends who haven't received this award. You are a blessing to Blogland, thank you for your friendship!
I was given this Award "Best Friend Forever" by Canadagirl. I've only known Mary since this past summer and immediately we became friends. She is a very sweet, and very caring friend. God places friends in our lives just at the proper time, and you have been one these friends, thank you my "Sweet Sister in Christ". If you don't know Mary, this is how she signs all of her comments, she makes everyone feel very special through the bond of love we all have in Christ. You ARE Very Special to me my "SSIC"
I love the friends I have made here at HSB, thank you so much for your love and friendship. (((((Brazilian hugs)))) My nominations are based on friends whom I have gotten to know through blogland and now we are friends outside of Blogland through e-mails, phone calls or just getting together for a day of fun. These friends are: gnjlopez, Garringer9, JoAnn, Lori, and I can't leave my sweet daughter Dancing4Him out for she will always be my best friend forever.
Wow, CanadaGirl nominated me for a blog Award " Best Variety Blog" . Thank you Mary, you are so very kind to me. You are my guardian Angel. (((((Brazilian/American hugs to you my Canadian/American friend)))))
If I understood this right, today is the last day for nominations and I believe in order to make it to the finals a blogger has to have three nominations, so PLEASE VOTE FOR ME
Please consider spreading the word!
Right click this graphic and save it to your
computer so you can use it on your blog post!
Here are the categories you can nominate someone in. This year there have been slight modifications to the descriptions of the categories and we have changed the teen category to THREE separate categories instead of one. As you read these descriptions, you’ll probably start thinking of a particular blog that you love which fits the bill. THAT is the blog we want to know about. Since you can only nominate ONE blog per category this year (to make the list shorter on our voting page), please pick with care! Remember that the blog you nominate must be nominated by three different people in the same category to make it to the finals. However, ALL nominations will be listed on the site after nominations close (even if they won’t be going on to the final voting stage).
*While the blogs below are listed in categories, the nomination you make does not have to be a blog that EXCLUSIVELY talks about the category topic. However, if we can not read the blog and tell that the blogger is a homeschooler, homeschool parent or homeschool vendor… it is possible that we may reject the nomination.*
First I would like to thank all of you for the kinds words you left on my previous post. I know and trust that the Lord is in control. One thing I forgot to mention is that my sister and her family do not know the Lord.
My friends CanadaGirl, JGLopez2Peter3:18 have graciously awarded me with this sweet award. Thank you my friends, I feel so very blessed by your friendship. You are very special
"This award is for those bloggers who are nice people; good blog friends and those who inspire good feelings and inspiration. Also for those who are a positive influence on our blogging world. Once you've been awarded please pass it on to others who you feel are deserving of this award."
My 5 nominations:
Dancing4Him- My sweet wonderful DD, she melts my heart when she leaves me comments on my c-box. I think her blog reflects a sweet calm spirit. OK, Mommy is very proud of you
Lori - she has been and is a wonderful friend. We clicked right away when the Lord brought us together here at this Blog land we call HSB. She came one day to my blog and commented of how much we have in comma after reading my blog. She is a very loving and kind friend. We have teased each other that we are twins sisters, and we do think so much a like. LOL (one of our parents had very dark hair and the other had blond hair )
JoAnn - She nominated me also, as I was getting this post done. I had her down already so she gets the award back and that's OK. She has been such an encourager to me. Very loving, kind and supportive. She says I have been this to her, but I believe it's the other way around.
Sharity - She is a very sweet friend, who is always faithful and very kind in commenting on my blog. She is one of the very first friends I've made here, we both had our moments with our dial-up connections and HSB site :) She has helped me with so many things concerning blog world. she has always taken the time to answer me when I had questions. I have enjoyed her lovely blog and the sweetness she offers to blog world. I like what Lori said about her: "She has class."
Lori G. - She is fairly new friend, we have enjoyed each others passing and missing blogging moments. Give her a visit, you will enjoy her blog. She is a seasoned hs mom, who is very open about her walk with the Lord. She offers a little of everything on her blog.
Now, I picked only five, but have to say all of my dear friends here have greatly enriched my life one way or another. Thank you for blogging from your hearts, this has been a great experience for me.
If you all have the time stop by Jen blog's, this is her very first year of HS. She has a beautiful spirit and can use some support.
I received this Award from 2Peter3:18 and Bakerswife, a month ago and some how it just kept being pushed to the corner. (busy summer schedule) I feel much honor and yet, I feel I am not deserving of it. Truly, I feel this honor is due to my Abba in heaven, He is the one who deserves all of it; I am just the clay.
Thank you dear JoAnn and Mama Karen for the nomination. You both are very special to me, I have been very blessed by your friendship. In return you will also receive the Award back. ((((( I love you both))))
I am nominating 5 ladies based on the encouragement, love and support I have received from them. These friends have been very loving and kind towards me. They have laughed with me, prayed for me, accepted and respected me for who I am. Their Blogs is a reflection of love and care for their families, and a profound sincere desire to reflect the one true God. I have been so very blessed by their friendships. I know you all have been nominated, so you get it twice :)
I do feel I can't just nominate 5 friends I need to make mention of the newer friends I have. As I visit their blogs and get to know them I feel so very blessed that they are my friends.
As you all already know, there is this award going around, called Rockn' Girl Blogger Award. My dear friend Lori nominated me. Thank you sweet sister, you are so kind to me. I would have nominated you also, because you Rock
I don't really like these awards, (I know I am nuts) because, I am afraid someone is always left out...... I have some very sweet and kind friends here. I treasure everyone of you who stop by often and always leave encouraging comments and now stop by everyday and say something nice on my c-box.
How can I nominate just five? My sweet friends Jenn4Him, Canadagirl, Sharity, PlainJane, Threelittlegirls, Eclectic Education, have been so encouraging in leaving me comments and just taking my Brazilian ways on this Blog world, you all Rock, I'm glad to see that everyone of you have been nominated.
The rules are: I need to nominate 5 friends and let them know that they have been nominated. I would like to nominate these other wonderful, sweet and kind friends.
2Peter318- You Rock, I have learned to love and respect JoAnn. She has a very tender heart for the Lord. I've seen her constant love for doing what is right for Him. She's been through a lot. Also, she is a very faithful in leaving me comments...... And all of her patience in helping me with my blog. You rock my sister.
Bakerswife - My sweet new friend. She is so kind, and is so willing to learn about Blog world. She is also very faithful in leaving such encouraging comments. I've seen where she is already being a blessing to others. Well, my new sweet friend you Rock.
Garringer9 - She is another new friend. I can't believe how much she has already done with her template for such a short time blogging. She has some really good posts and you can see her love for the Lord. You Rock my new friend.
Short - She does a fantastic job with cake decorating. She lives in Israel and has posted some of the most beautiful pictures about Isreal. She recently had some computer problems, had her thumb cut about a month ago and still did cake decorating. You can see and read her passion for the Lord on her posts. You Rock my friend.
Last but not least, my DD Dancing4Him. She was very shy when she first got her blog, specially in leaving comments to her friends, but is striving hard to be an encouragement to them. She allowed me, her mom to work on her template, can you believe it? Most 13 years old girls want nothing with their moms. I did just the main stuff and now she is putting some finish touches to it, just the way she wants them, she is doing a great job!. You rock my sweet girl, thank you for being my friend. I love you!
This Blog is about my life and the different adventures that I experience being a wife, homeschooling mother, homemaker, friend, and daughter of the king of the Universe. I am a follower of Yeshua (Jesus' name in Hebrew) He was born a Jew and lived as a Jew on this earth. It's because of him, and his incredible love towards me, that my ashes were turned into beauty.
I'm a native of Brazil. I have been married to my DH, for 22 years. We met while he was there on a Mission's trip. We have one wonderful 13 years DD.
