Meeting Reminder
Posted in Updates and Information
The date of our next meeting, November 2, is quickly approaching. Just a reminder to bring with you any book about homeschooling you have read recently. We will have a time of discussion and sharing about the books, and hopefully glean helpful tidbits from one another's reading!
Please be in prayer for some changes in the works for the future. The fact that the group is growing is such an encouragement, however some logistical issues have arrisen, and we will be working to remedy some of those. It is an exciting time of change and growth for our group, and I look forward to what is in store for us in the future!
Hope to see you on Thursday, November 2 at 1:30 pm!

A Great Meeting
Posted in Updates and Information
I just wanted to thank every one who made it to the meeting yesterday. We had a very productive time, and I am looking forward to getting to know all the new faces in the future!
The information on the art classes with Luanne Wren will be posted as soon as it is available.
For those whose desire to have their children involved in the play, we will be starting practices in November. It looks as though Monday afternoons are the best choice right now. Please let me know if this will absolutely not work.
Also, information on the field trip to the pumpkin farm will be posted soon, so check back for updates.
Have a great day!

Finally, Another Update!
Posted in Updates and Information
Thank you, ladies for having been so patient with me regarding my slacking off on the posts here. Now that we are all beginning the new school year, I thought I would post an update.
The first meeting of the new year will be Thursday, September 14th. (You may remember I will not be around for the first Thursday of Sept., so we moved the date of the meeting to the second Thursday.) The time will be 1:30, just as last year. The topic of discussion will be plans for the new school year. Please come prepared with field trip ideas, as well. Hope to see you there!

Well, ladies, there has been a change of plans. The Suarez's will not be able to visit our group. They regretfully had to cancel. Hope this doesn't interfere too much with everyone's plans for the week.

Maine E-Week 2006 Expo Information
Expo - Saturday, March 4 from 9AM to 2PM at the UMaine Field House, Orono, ME
Over 50 of Maine's top engineering firms, engineering schools, government agencies, and industries will be set up exhibits throughout the Fieldhouse who will share their ideas and knowledge of engineering and technology. In addition to the demonstrations and exhibits, there will be activity tables set up by engineers and educators for kids, parents, and the general public to challenge the designer and problem solver in everyone. Come discover engineering and science through hands-on interaction.
See pictures of previous year's events.
There will be food service available so plan to stay for a while. There will also be guided tours of UMaine's Engineering departments.

Sunshine Basket
Posted in Updates and Information
The ideas shared at Thursday's meeting regarding the sunshine basket for Val were fine. She might appreciate notes of encouragement, gift certificates to McDonalds, or even Walmart, candles, lotion, inspirational books, a relaxing music CD, or anything else that makes her feel cared for.
Bring your gift tomorrow and I will assemble and deliver the basket this week(unless we feel we need more time to contribute the gifts).
