Outside my Window...Jordan shooting arrows from his home made sling-shot

I am thinking...need to start prepping dinner soon

I am thankful for...a quiet summer day with "no great demands"

From the kitchen...grilled chicken drumsticks for dinner and crisp cucumbers from the garden.

I am wearing...striped tee shirt and denim capri's.  Hair pulled back and clipped.

I am reading..."
Little Britches" and the latest CBD catalog

I am hoping...
to bless my family today! :D

I am hearing...through the open windows, cicada's buzzing in the yard

I am creating...a household planner

Around the house...we began a new cleaning "system" or "schedule " today.

One of my favorite things… lacey curtains fluttering in a summer breeze

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week...home school co-op kick-off picnic on Wednesday,  Soccer begins Saturday!

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you...

Jul. 17, 2008-Hold On To Your Crown

I get Nancy's devotionals via e-mail - be encouraged!.....

HOLD ON TO YOUR CROWN

Revelation 3:11, "Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown."

When God appeared to Moses as I AM THAT I AM out in the backside of the desert, He commissioned him to deliver the Hebrews from their slavery in Egypt. But Moses was fearful to take on such a task. He had no strength of his own to accomplish it. God then said to him, "What is that in thine hand, Moses?" (Exodus 4:2).

What was in his hand? A shepherd's rod. Nothing fancy. Nothing powerful. Just a simple rod he used each day to guide, prod and protect his flock. God took that plain shepherd's rod and made it a mighty weapon in Moses' hand. Whenever he stretched forth the rod mighty miracles happened. It released the plagues upon the Egyptians. It showed forth God's mighty power.

Sometimes you wonder what you are doing in your home. Your friends have high-powered careers and are raking in the money. You are trying to make ends meet from day to day. Your family remind you that you are wasting your life and your education.

But what is in your hand? It is the rod of motherhood. It may look insignificant, as Moses' rod did, but it wields a mighty power. Motherhood is the most powerful career in the nation. As a mother, you determine the course of the nation. You are in God's hands preparing your children for the purposes God has laid out for them before the foundation of the world. This is a top notch job. It is high powered!

Mothering is your crown. It has been invested in you by God himself. It is your anointing of womanhood. It is your authority. Do not take off your beautiful crown of motherhood to allow someone else to mother the children God has given you.   Never let your crown go. Hold on to it. Lift your head high and be proud of your divine calling.

You may be going through circumstances that cause you to feel like giving up. You feel an utter failure. This mothering business is not working out. Your children are giving you heartache. Do not give up. Do not take off your crown. Rise up in the anointing and authority that God has given you as a mother. Do not let your circumstances rob you of your crown.

Do not let other people rob you either. Do you notice that this Scripture says that man will try to take it from you? Those who are ignorant of God's heart for children will speak negative things into your life. Those who are deceived by this world's philosophy will try to lure you away from your high calling. Do not be swayed by what people say. Do not let them take your crown. Hold on to it tightly.

Do not for a moment be intimidated by your antagonists! (Philippians 1:28)

Love from NANCY CAMPBELL

PRAYER:

"Lord, I thank you that you have given me the crown of mothering. Help me to see that it is a crown to wear and be proud of. When I wear this crown I am walking in your perfect will. Amen."

AFFIRMATION:

Mothering is a crown I wear with dignity.

May. 23, 2008-The Smell of Fresh Bread

Two long weeks ago my trusty Breadman bread machine gave out.   It was a birthday gift about 5 years ago from a generous friend and it has cranked out dozens of loaves of  warm, crusty bread along with batch after batch of pizza dough.

With the price of EVERYTHING rising these days, it was not the time for me to run out to the store and plunk down $100 + for a new machine.  I prayed that God would provide one for me and today he did.
Jordan was bugging me all day to take him to a garage sale he saw advertised in the paper.  They listed they were selling a Palm Pilot that he wanted to check- out.  Finally, around 3:00pm, we drove over there  - it was my first garage sale this season.   I spied it right away --

Guess what the price was?...

                      $5.00!

She had the owners manual for me and even threw in a bread machine cookbook!    The Lord truly wants to give us the desires of our heart!

Our first loaf will be Cinnamon Raisin Bread and if all goes well we'll be enjoying it tomorrow morning about 7:30AM!

PS.  He never bought the Palm Pilot.

May. 14, 2008-No Day Must Pass...

Posted in Heart Keeping

 No day must pass,

though ever so busy a day,

though ever so sorrowful a day,

 without praising God.

 God is every day blessing us, doing well for us;

there is therefore reason

that we should be every day blessing him,

speaking well of him.

May. 4, 2008-Our Magnolia Tree

Spring is not the best of seasons.
Cold and flu are two good reasons;
wind and rain and other sorrow,
warm today and cold tomorrow.

~Author Unknown

The magnolia tree in our back yard always blooms the first weekend in May.
As for the poem above,  it is so true for us the past week!  5 out of 6 of us have
been hit with yet another stomach bug.

Apr. 22, 2008-Everything You Want to Know About Mothers....

Posted in Just For Fun

Kids Answer Questions About Mothers

Here's how several elementary school students answered the following questions about moms:

Why did God make mothers?

She's the only one who knows where the Scotch tape is.
Mostly to clean the house.
To help us out of there when we were getting born.

How did God make mothers?

He used dirt, just like for the rest of us.
Magic, plus superpowers and a lot of stirring.
God made my mom just the same like he made me. He just used bigger parts.

What ingredients are mothers made of?

God makes mothers out of clouds and angel hair and everything nice in the world  and one dab of mean.

They had to get their start from men's bones. Then they mostly use string, I think.

Why did God give you your mother and not some other mom?

We're related.
God knew she likes me a lot more than other people's moms like me.
