Welcome! Step inside the Tack Room, and make yourself comfortable. This is a place for me to write about my life and put my thoughts into words in the spirit of 1 Timothy 4:12.
Ah, it's been forever since I've done an S&T! I wanted to show y'all a map I drew for my novel, The Blade Unbroken. I've sketched out a few maps in the past, but I finally decided to make a "real" one. To tell the truth, I was quite pleased with the result:
It was done with a pen (I copied the font off the computer, but it's done by hand), and that's about it. I printed a copy to keep next to my desk, where I can keep an eye on it while I write. Hopefully there will be plenty of inspiration in the days ahead!
Your the one who created the story about Alondae?! I had stumbled across that blog, and bookmarked it because I thought it was so cool, but I didn't realize it was you!</p
There seems to be a map-making frenzy around here lately, first Tinuviel, then me, and now you! I need to upload my map so I can show you, I'll do that latter today.
In other joyous news, Black Beauty (my laptop) has been healed! My dad (finally) uninstalled my parental controls! *sings the Hallelaujah chorus*
I really like your map! So you drew it and then scanned it into the computer? Very nice. I just wish it were large, so I could read it better.
Have a great 4th!
Oh, if you want to make a widget of your story blog, I would post it on my WW blog and that way others (and I) can click various chapters and go right to them. Always new places to share! You can see some examples of some young authors' widgets on the left sidebar:

well, actually, I haven't read any of your story yet, it's nothing personal, I'm just terrible at keeping up with friends blogs, it's hard enough to keep with my own! But I am planning to read it now, the other Alondae blog has intrigued me.

P.S. You should probably log in to HSB when you check my blog, because I have a habit of posting posts as "Registered User Only"
Here is the URL for my map, I made it using a a pencil, Tinuviel's scanner, and Photoshop Elements

What a nice looking map. That had to be so fun to make!
I love using calligraphy pens. I got this set of pens with books and all for my daughter, then discovered it won't work for her, as she's left-handed. I had to order different pens and all! Duh....who would have figured!

I'd love to have you join us at the WW blog. Everybody finds it both fun and challenging. You can either "finish the course" and get the certificate for your homeschool portfolio, or you can pick and choose the lessons that help you the most. You can download them and work on your own, or post your lessons and let me give you feedback and suggestions. This summer is a good time, as most students have slowed down, some have graduated, and some have taken the summer off. Check out the other story widgets on the left sidebar. I was wondering how the students could share their work with others, and this turned out to be the most efficient way. And...you don't have to be a WW student to post your widget, either! Everybody is welcome to use the WW blog as a gathering place to keep all their stories in one central place, for easy sharing. If it gets to be real popular, I'll make a new writing blog devoted only to posting all the widgets.
