Nov. 6, 2005 - Explorations

When I first started exploring HSB the other day for teen bloggers, I was starting to feel a little disappointed when I discovered that most of the bloggers were like -- you got it, older than myself, and usually with a few more children than myself. Between random blogging and blog hopping I discovered a couple interesting blogs, and then 'woe and behold', I discovered the club. Well, I added all the interesting blogs. And ended up with a small friends list. *feels victorious* Maybe I should have just contacted the resident detective Tim and gotten all the information like that. But hey, it feels more fulfilling this way.

Anyhow, the story concludes that basically I feel like I'm here now. I mean, at least I don't feel totally lost. And that brings me to:

I found you, but you were not lost. Who are you?

a blogger of course. :)

God Bless!

Hello! First, thanks for visiting my site and thanks for your wonderful comments. I absolutely love your site. Your articles are very though provoking and I enjoyed reading them.

Also, I actually have TWO blogs. My other one is located at

http://www.spunkyjunior.blogspot.com/

I typically don't have time to cross-post everything over from that blog over here, so that one is frequently more updated. I will be adding your blog to my sidebar.

Glad you found some good teen sites. I have quite a few I could recommend, if you wanted any more.

God Bless,
Kristin

Nov. 7, 2005 - The club?

I guess you could call it a club. There are a few of us that are really close because we work on so many projects together. I recently went hunting and found over 40 teen bloggers that offer more than just fluff. All you gotta do is go to either Agent Tim or Spunky Junior and start clicking. :)

I'm glad you enjoyed reading my articles. I always actually enjoy sitting back and reading them after a couple months after I've fairly well forgotten what I said. It gives me a whole different perspective and then sometimes I think that I should have changed something. :P

Thanks for adding me, I appreciate it. I hope to get more into the writing part of it soon. But, that'll be waiting until I have a few moments to write. Right now, I'm enjoying reading through everybody's blogs and getting a good overview of what people are thinking and see when and where I can jump in. I definitely plan to be over at A Sidetracked Focus this friday evening if possible -- I really like the idea.

I've started clicking! Thanks for the idea. :)

Nov. 7, 2005 - Other good blogs...

Posted by Lindsey

Oh, yes...and if you want to know of some other really good blogs, a few that come to mind immediately are: 1. The Rebelution! This is a wonderful blog made by Alex & Brett Harris. I highly reccomend going there! (www.rebelution.blogspot.com) 2. Agent Tim Online! This was the first blog I ever went to, and it was reccomended to me by my pastor. (www.agenttimonline.com)
3. Pete's Place. He's been gone for a while now, but it's a great blog anyway. (pjake.blogspot.com) 4. Mission 3:6Teen. Again, another very good blog! Jake (the owner of Mission 3:6Teen), together with Spunky Jr., Agent Tim, and Coie, are running a new blog together called A Side-Tracked Focus, which looks very promising. It's a bible study for teens. Jake's blog can be found at: www.mission36teen.com, and A Side-Tracked Focus can be found at: www.asidetrackedfocus.com. You already know about Spunky Jr., so I won't put down her blog address, though she's among my favorite bloggers also.... and finally, www.preachermansblog.blogspot.com, a very good blog run by Matt. I don't agree with everything that he does (I'm a Calvinist) but I still like his blog. So....now you know my little list of teen bloggers! Hope that helps some!
God bless,
Lindsey

Hey!
I was just wondering if you could give me the definition of the term "blog hopping", because I've never heard anyone else use it before and I thought I had made it up.

Thanks for all the links. I actually had discovered all but one of them. I'm looking forwards to joining the club. And still debating on whether to crosspost to my blogspot blog. (one I've had but never used for anything but voice posts. :P) Is it easier to integrate with a blogspot blog?

Ah! So you're a calvinist -- hehe, everybody seems to be. I'm still viewing all sides of the issue and can't say I'm ready to totally defend either side. I can ask you more questions than you can answer though. :)

I hope to be part of ASF and plan to be there Friday evening Lord willing.

I used to use the expression 'friends trailing' for that. But on the homeschool blogger 'terms' page they said that it was properly called blog hopping. So I guess you were'nt the first with it. :)

I'm sure you could ask me more questions than I could answer! :) I am looking more into it as well, but from what I know I'm pretty sure my beliefs match up with them. I've only very recently decided that I was a Calvinist, because only very recently did I start thinking about things like predestination and such...As for using blogspot...I reccomend it. From what I've seen, more people use blogspot then homeschoolblogger, so you'll probably get more responses that way. :) I think I'll be at ASF too, but I don't know, since it is technically a chatroom, so I'll have to ask my parents for permission since I am not allowed in chatrooms. I think this could be an exception, since it is a bible study, though. :)

I really recommend Blogspot more than HomeschoolBlogger. I don't know why, but I like it :)

I did notice, David, that you're from London Ontario. Did you know you're only about 1 1/2 hours away from me? I live in the metro Detroit area and Canada (obviously) is just across the river! I just realized this and thought it was pretty cool :)

Oh really, well we're 216km from the border. So going 120km/h will get you here in less than 2 hours. :) We're half an hour on the east side of London.

I always like discovering that people are close geographically, it gives you a sort of... how do you say it? Well it's just like, "Great, I'm not the only one up here. :)"

Ah hello Coie, I've heard so much about you. Haha, at least random nonsense is better than planned nonsense. :D

I'm looking forwards to being over at ASF -- hopefully I'll be able to be there. :)
