It's Josh/Homer again!

Posted in The Inklings

Hello fellow inklings! It’s Josh, no wait, it’s Spitfires, no it’s Homer. Oh, good grief.

With my last post- I don’t mean to complain, I just wanted to bring up something to think about. If that’s what you guys feel, that’s fine, I’ll leave it at that! So, onto business!

I’ve chosen a name for myself- Homer. So do I create a “Homer’s Post” category for me to start posting in? Is that how it works?

I believe there’s a tag that comes with entering Inklings? I think this is it here, so here I go.

Do you have a pen/pecil collection? A black felt-tip pen collection

How many of those are chewed? None.

Do you prefer handwriting or typing furiously? I touch-type, so that’s a lot faster, and easier on my fingers and neck. I’m a typer.

How often do you get inspiration? Eh, I haven’t done much writing recently, so it’s hard to say, but I probably get it quite often.

Are you blogging this on a computer or laptop? I’m using a computer (but I use whatever’s available- typing on a computer is a lot easier)

Do you get inspiration more in the early morning or late at night? I get it throughout the day, but most of my story writing is done in the afternoon.

Do certain movies/books/music inspire you? All three really. Maybe not movies as much as the other two.

How do you incorporate God into your stories? Typical “Aslan” normally, but I like what Storyteller said when he did this tag- he does all of his writing for the glory of God- I like that answer.

Do you kill off your villains or make them repent? I never get that close to finishing a book with such a personal villain, but I’d probably kill them off.

Is the majority of your characters magical beings, humans or halflings? Or something else? I like Elves, but I’ve never used halflings or any wizards or other extremely magical beings. The rest are usually human.

What genre of writing are you most comfortable in? Fantasy, non-fiction, and historical fiction.

If you were to step out of your comfort zone, what would you write? Romance. (forget it!)

Do you work better alone or with someone else? Alone, unless we are just both writing in the same fantasy world- I am doing that right now in fact.

Do your stories make sense, or do they ramble wildly? I HOPE they make sense, but they can meander along with small-talk.

Are your characters mostly Renegades, Peacekeepers or a mish-mash? A mishmash, but I don’t write much about Renegrades (I have one such character in mind to write sometime, however).

Are you a sucker for good grammar? Most of the time

How is your handwriting? Messy, but I can read it (just)

How evil are your villains? My fantasy villain is a Sauron type fellow, so that’s bad.

Are you long-winded or succinct? Long-winded.

Do you have typical "writer" traits such as inkstains on your fingers or a pencil behind your ear? No.

Would someone walking past you on the street consider you normal? Um, until they stopped and talked to me, I hope so.

Do you write mostly poetry, stories, novels or a mixture? Novels, which are never finished, but I’ve written some good stories.

Do your characters vary in accents, appearence and attitude or are they mostly the same? I have a reasonable variance of attitudes, but not in accents.

Do real people and/or places inspire your writing? History inspires me a lot.

How many blogs/websites/internet haunts do you have? Inklings and my HSB blog, Spitfires. That’s it.

What is your favorite character? Or do you choose to remain unbiased in case of a revolt? My characters don’t revolt- that may be because I don’t fight them J. My favourite character- um…I don’t know.

Do you talk to your characters? Do they talk back? No, not really.

Are you more comfortable with girl or boy main characters? Boys,

Do you follow basic overused plotlines with new twists thrown in or do you depart from the norm all the time? AKA cliches? My fantasy is probably a mixture- it is frequently inspired by real history (that’s not normal) but it’s rathe LOTR inspired as well. The little bit of fiction I have written is original.

Do you feel God has called you to be a writer/poet? I think He has given me an ability to write, and I hope to use it for His service.

Will you grasp "the power of the pen? For God’s glory, I want to try.

I also have some questions-

What’s a SAE?

What’s the story with all these characters- ghosts, villains, pirates (I ain’t got no oil! Honest!)? do you choose your own character (if you want one), or do people request would anybody like to be….?

So, my stories are coming soon…

Josh (aka, Homer)

A SAE is a Semi-Alter-Ego.
What, you mean the roles we tend to pick? Naw, just don't try and become a villain. R.K. will sic himself on you.
If you're talking about The Inklings series, it's just our traits and likenesses.
God bless and welcome,

I think SAE is R.K, ask Pip! As for the story, well I THINK that is the Inklings' book 2. Cool, post! Yes, you can make a category saying Homer's posts!
Bye for now

Hi, Jack here.
Welcome, I am the insane founder, usually if you have questions you are told to ask me, however, I do not always have the answers :D
As for the villian, ghost, pirate.. RK is our villian, I forget how he got the role, but he has a dungeon, so be nice to him or you will end up in there, like I am.
I am a ghost because Jane killed me, and Jules is a pirate because he saw POTC and, well, he turned to piracy. Snicket is his first mate. Anyways, that is where that came from.
But, we are very glad to have you here, have some chocolate, sit back and enjoy yourself.
