Tennyson Returns...

Posted in Posted by Alfred Lord Tennyson

...to say that something is wrong with the template.  But more on that later.

Hey, y'all.  It has been absolutely forever since I got on here, and there are twice as many members as when I first joined.  Amazing.

However, the first thing I noticed is that the template is extremely hard to navigate, especially for someone new (or someone returning after a long break), and I think it's time we have a new one.  No offence to Katie, who did a fabulous job making this one, I just think it's time that we get a template where you don't have to manually drag the little bars to scroll down.  It makes it much harder to read everyone's stories, and it discourages people from visiting and commenting.

So, I would like to request that someone with a talent for making templates would try making us a new one!  Who agrees with me?

By the way, this post is going to stay at the top of this blog for the next week, hopefully long enough for everyone to see it.

Back to my return, I hope to be posting some stories I write on here in the near future!

Blessings!

~Cherise (oh, wait, I mean...) Tennyson

I might be able to make y'all a template, if no one else volunteers. :) I love writing-related stuff, and I would love to do something like this. I can make a parchment background, and I also have the same JaneAusten font as the title thing that says "Inklings". But I could also do something completely different if you'd like.

Another idea... If you want to keep this template, there might be a way to take out the scroll bars, and still keep the background image fixed in the background.

Hey, that is so cool that you all want to make the template! I do want to say that I really like the style of this one, so something similar without the scroll bars would be wonderful!

Perhaps you could all make templates for Inklings, and we could have all the members vote on which one they would like best! What do you think?

And thank you guys for the warm welcome back! You guys are so awesome! *hugs*

Good grief, she LIVES. Welcome back! *tosses her a cream puff* R.K. was becoming angry!!!
I really like the background of this one, but yes, we should alter it I guess.
God bless,

Tuesday 9 December 2008 - I agree

I agree with everybody else- Keep a similar template as this one, with the parchment and everything, but without the scrollbars.

I like the idea of voting for the best template, so we would have a short trial period for each template, and people might comment what they liked or didn't like about each one, and then we vote. Is that the way it would be done?

Welcome back, Tennyson! I'm Elizabeth Enright. I hope to get to know you better in the future. I can't wait to see your writings!
Though I like this template and I'm not having any of the problems other people are having, I think a something new would be nice. Maybe something similar to this but with a different color scheme. Maybe dark green or royal blue.

God Bless You!
And Welcome Back!

A new template would be AWESOME. Let's make it pirate themed. . . . Maybe with a Jolly Roger, or some skull and crossbones. . . Okay, Okay, maybe not. Geez, RK, stop looking at me like that!

I would be willing to make something that you could vote on.

If you want to see some of the templates I've made, go here:

http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/BlogTips/322343/

The only other writing template I've done (besides the parchment-style background on my template) is for a blog I share with my friend... http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/youngwriters4Jesus

It's more modern, but I can do something more old-fashioned and make a desk-style or parchment-style background as well.

It all depends on what y'all want!

Also, if you would like to keep this template, there might be a way to take out the scroll bars. I don't know though; you'd have to ask the maker. :D
