Teaser

Here's a teaser from the book Barrie and I are writing together. If you want to know more about it, click here.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

While trying to put out the fire, Halamath heard the rustling of footsteps in the woods. They weren’t like a scampering squirrel or a rabbit; they were quiet and stealthy.

“Tiralin, I think something’s watching us.”

“Do hush. Didn’t you hear me before? I don’t want to talk.”

“But Tiralin, there’s really something out there.”

“No, you’re just trying to make conversation with me.”
“But Tira------ah!” His voice seemed suddenly muffled.

When he looked up from Leryn, Tiralin realized they were surrounded by the wild men, all fair-haired, and one had his hands clamped around Halamath’s mouth.

Tiralin looked all around and saw that they all were carrying either a spear or a bow and knew it would not be a good idea to fight them.

“Tell us, dark-haired beasts,” said the man who appeared to be the chief, “what brings you into our territory?”

His heart racing, Tiralin could not think of anything to say. He saw Halamath’s terrified face, half hidden by the man’s hands, ran his hand over his hair, and began to say, “We were sent by…”

But he was cut off by the chief. “Bind them,” He said to the men surrounding him. Then he turned to Tiralin and said, “Get the girl up.”

About Us

The world is big and almost everyone in it thinks authors are weird. The Inklings are here to prove that everyone right! This is a place for authors to talk about writing, exchange stories, and meet other authors who understand them. Somewhat. Sure, we discuss things like sardines, torture, the value of chocolate and coffee, pirates, Renegades and Peacekeepers, Prince Charming, and ghosts, but we are nice, really we are...On a formal note, the Inklings are a group of writers who dare to rebel against the lowering standard for modern literature, to let God and His Goodness guide our pens, to Fight against Evil with our writing. Keep this in mind as you share your writing and build each other up.
