It passed almost immediately. “Are we having a volcano? In Nebraska?” James said in a panic, he stood outside the small cave and looked around. Jacob stood out to look as well. What he saw was nothing like what he remembered., instead of dead trees there was no tree in sight. There was ash along the ground as much as ten inches deep. The sky was black and red. The air felt slimy and smelled horribly of sulfur. The view was bleak, and dark.
