Chapter 2
The Watcher Leap
Joyce looked at the tracer. It was in it's starting stages, so it looked very different. The buttons were in different areas and the light wasn't green on this one, it was blue. Joyce looked around the time machine and rubbed on it.
"Hello, baby," she said, remembering that Watcher would always call his time machine that.
She sat down on the floor, because there were no furniture in the time machine at this time. She truly missed the Watcher, her Mom, her bedroom, her house, and even her brother, Johnny. It was hard to keep leaping into person to person. She wanted out and back in her own person. She heard a door open and she got up abruptly. There stood a woman with curly, blonde hair. She had green eyes and pale skin.
"Alan, I need you to pick up some groceries," said she, handing her the list.
Joyce pointed to herself.
"Yes, Alan, you!"
"OK..." said Joyce, picking up the Watcher's jacket and putting it on.
Joyce walked out of the time machine and smiled at the familiar house look of the time machine. Then she walked out the back gate and found Watcher's bike, she mounted the bike and started riding towards Ingles. When she got there, she got off the bike and ran to the side of Ingles and chained the bike to the bike holder. She walked into the store and grabbed a cart and went around looking for the things Watcher's mother wanted. When she returned, She brought the food in the kitchen. Watcher's mom smiled and hugged Joyce. Joyce hugged back.
"I really missed you...I'm glad you're back from your traveling!"
"Me too, Mom, me too," said Joyce.
Watcher's mom walked away from Watcher and went to her bedroom. Adam popped in front of Joyce, smiling incredulously at her.
"What am I doing here?" asked Joyce to Adam.
"Well, let me give you some info on the person you are," said Adam, still smiling incredulously.
"I know who I am!" said Joyce, snapping.
"You do? Cool! Well, he's 17 years old, and you're..."
Joyce rolled her eyes, "Cut down to the chase!"
"I'm getting down to it!" said Adam, "There's a 93 percent chance that you're here to save his Mom from the Time Changer..."
"Junior?"
"Yes," said Adam, bluntly, "He tries to kill Watcher's Mom..."
Joyce rubbed her head, she had a headache, "Well, I'll do my best to save her, Adam!"
"OK," said Adam, "Oh! Someone's coming into my room! I've got to go!"
Adam disappeared and Joyce was left alone in the Watcher's body.
