I don't have a title for my new story yet :D
Posted in The Inklings
I stood at the gate, watching her go by. I wish I could come with her.
I probably looked a sad sight, standing with tears rolling down my face,
with more tears marks on my face already. As the little girl skipped past the gate, I looked in her eyes to see, eternal happiness. Her happiness was like no other. Her eyes glimmered with hope, faith, and something strange I have never seen in my life.
@
As she went away, she left a sparkling path after her. I wish I could climb over the gate and walk on the path she left. The girl all of a sudden came back. She looked at me with glimmering eyes and said with a soft voice, Climb over, I will not hurt you. Come, walk on my path with me. When she said those words I thought I would crack and fall into a million pieces. The girl still stood there. Looking straight into my eyes. It almost made me shiver, not with fear, but with hope. Hope of going into a new world.
She looked at me again and whispered why do you think? Can you not see I have happiness? You could have everything on this side of the gate. Just swing your legs over, as I said, I will not hurt you.
I still just stood there. Could I really trust her?
She laughed a slivery laugh. I know what you thinking. You can trust me, really you can. I was once a girl just like you. Homeless, and not wanted. She laughed again, and then said once more, Come with me. In my world, it will be your world.
Suddenly, I felt my life was changed forever.
I went over the gate, slowly, trying not to show my fear and excitement.
Finally, I was over. She flashed a big grin at me and said Come! My father is waiting for you!
I looked at her with puzzlement. How could her father know I was coming?
Suddenly I felt myself flying toward the sky. I was right, my life is changed.

Hello, this is Sir Barrie, and I needed to say that Laura and Ian can no longer be members of the Inklings. I can't go into details, but Laura wanted me to tell all y'all this... so goodbye.

Has Inklings Died or Something???!!!
Posted in The Inklings
Inklings 'tis nothing like what it used to be. No one comments any more, and people hardly ever post. Why is that?
Sorry, I was just wondering.
It's still rather strange, probably because it is summer. Never mind

Small note...
Posted in The Inklings
I went ahead and did two things. One: I wrote to hersheylover12 (the person who has sent us THREE messages and has gone unanswered for two weeks) and told her that I wasn't sure if she could join or not, but I thought she might be welcome here. Two: After I had done this (and said I would talk to Jack, Jane or Pippers) I cleared the outbox, so if anyone is disgruntled at me for doing either of these things they may beat me sensless with Jack's Sardines.

Ok I know I have been missing for the past few days. I have had horrible luck with my computer. first an update crashed my computer then I had to install a whole new Operating System named Kubuntu. I love it better than my old setup so I am still happy. however I do need help, My story is at a halt because I can't figure out Darlene. she is a character that I made on the fly, so is there anybody out there that could assist me in the writing of these next few chapters? If so great, I really need the help. Also I have been working on a top secret Inklings project. it now complete. Chatzy has a few problems. like no smilies, but also the passwaord ecryptor is weak, so anybody can hack in easily. Chatzy however gave us security in knowing WHO was getting on.
http://inklings88.webs.com/index.htm I repeat this is NOT A PERMENATE CHAT, but a trial run. I have made it a secure accout. it isn't listed anywhere, and we can repeat this process. plus I will be adding a traffic monitor so anybody can tell who is on just by looking at the IP address. HAPPY!

Dungeons and Late Nights, PLEASE READ
Posted in The Inklings
Greetings!
I wanted to take a moment and say that the Dungeon policy must be reformed. Louis, the Dungeon is unbreakable...don't you start it. But I think we should have more discipline about it. From now on no one is going to be thrown in right away; we are going to have a vote or a jury or something that will ensure that the majority agrees the Dungeon should be used. Also, it will no longer be for petty crimes or insults against R.K.'s power that the Dungeon will be used. It will be used as a disciplinary tool for if a member truly insults someone, shows merciless violence (even virtual) to another member via the Chocolate Box, or some other serious offense. Please forgive rash action on R.K.'s part. Thus, everyone is out of the Dungeon. If you would still like your ransom completed (for example, I am still completing Jack's because Maddock has gotten on my nerves long enough!), go for it. Also, please do not take advantage of this new policy. Such as sewing black cloaks! R.K. has the right to wear one since he first thought of doing so; all other colors are allowed. If you wore a black cloak before he came along, please PM me with details. Please respect copyrighted material, such as SAEs and the characters' names on the Chocolate Box.
Also, please check with Jack Lewis if you would like a new member in the Inklings. She started this blog, she has the right to admit members to ourselves. It sounds hostile, but we must recall that the Inks should be as close as siblings, all fighting against Evil with God honoring work. Members must be taken in with more consideration.
Now, a word about if you were worried about Laura and I on the CB late at night. We are re-evaluating our time, we'll not stay up so late. Please accept my apologies for anything that might have offended you or scared you off. Lately I have been engaged in fierce spiritual warfare and the CB was like a thing I could use to vent what I felt inside. But it got out of hand, Evil was bearing down on me too ferociously. This sounds melodramatic, but I'm afraid I can tell you no more, other than I'd appreciate prayers.
Now, about bringing Evil characters to the CB. Fellow Inklings, we have the chance to use the CB as a tool to help us defeat our Renegades, so to speak, but stop trying to outdo each other in evilness. Naturally R.K. has played his part in this mad rat-race to be the evilest, the best. We should not delight in Evil, we must fight it! That is why I thank you for defying him. Just please, don't take advantage of him or me by tempting Evil. Fights are fine, but Good must win. We must work hard to gain each other's respect, not by bullying each other into submission but by kindness, encouragement and bravery.
If you have any further concerns, please PM me. Again, I apologize for anything I have done that might have offended any of you.
Regards,
Pippin Armour

It's Josh/Homer again!
Posted in The Inklings
Hello fellow inklings! It’s Josh, no wait, it’s Spitfires, no it’s Homer. Oh, good grief.
With my last post- I don’t mean to complain, I just wanted to bring up something to think about. If that’s what you guys feel, that’s fine, I’ll leave it at that! So, onto business!
I’ve chosen a name for myself- Homer. So do I create a “Homer’s Post” category for me to start posting in? Is that how it works?
I believe there’s a tag that comes with entering Inklings? I think this is it here, so here I go.
Do you have a pen/pecil collection? A black felt-tip pen collection
How many of those are chewed? None.
Do you prefer handwriting or typing furiously? I touch-type, so that’s a lot faster, and easier on my fingers and neck. I’m a typer.
How often do you get inspiration? Eh, I haven’t done much writing recently, so it’s hard to say, but I probably get it quite often.
Are you blogging this on a computer or laptop? I’m using a computer (but I use whatever’s available- typing on a computer is a lot easier)
Do you get inspiration more in the early morning or late at night? I get it throughout the day, but most of my story writing is done in the afternoon.
Do certain movies/books/music inspire you? All three really. Maybe not movies as much as the other two.
How do you incorporate God into your stories? Typical “Aslan” normally, but I like what Storyteller said when he did this tag- he does all of his writing for the glory of God- I like that answer.
Do you kill off your villains or make them repent? I never get that close to finishing a book with such a personal villain, but I’d probably kill them off.
Is the majority of your characters magical beings, humans or halflings? Or something else? I like Elves, but I’ve never used halflings or any wizards or other extremely magical beings. The rest are usually human.
What genre of writing are you most comfortable in? Fantasy, non-fiction, and historical fiction.
If you were to step out of your comfort zone, what would you write? Romance. (forget it!)
Do you work better alone or with someone else? Alone, unless we are just both writing in the same fantasy world- I am doing that right now in fact.
Do your stories make sense, or do they ramble wildly? I HOPE they make sense, but they can meander along with small-talk.
Are your characters mostly Renegades, Peacekeepers or a mish-mash? A mishmash, but I don’t write much about Renegrades (I have one such character in mind to write sometime, however).
Are you a sucker for good grammar? Most of the time
How is your handwriting? Messy, but I can read it (just)
How evil are your villains? My fantasy villain is a Sauron type fellow, so that’s bad.
Are you long-winded or succinct? Long-winded.
Do you have typical "writer" traits such as inkstains on your fingers or a pencil behind your ear? No.
Would someone walking past you on the street consider you normal? Um, until they stopped and talked to me, I hope so.
Do you write mostly poetry, stories, novels or a mixture? Novels, which are never finished, but I’ve written some good stories.
Do your characters vary in accents, appearence and attitude or are they mostly the same? I have a reasonable variance of attitudes, but not in accents.
Do real people and/or places inspire your writing? History inspires me a lot.
How many blogs/websites/internet haunts do you have? Inklings and my HSB blog, Spitfires. That’s it.
What is your favorite character? Or do you choose to remain unbiased in case of a revolt? My characters don’t revolt- that may be because I don’t fight them J. My favourite character- um…I don’t know.
Do you talk to your characters? Do they talk back? No, not really.
Are you more comfortable with girl or boy main characters? Boys,
Do you follow basic overused plotlines with new twists thrown in or do you depart from the norm all the time? AKA cliches? My fantasy is probably a mixture- it is frequently inspired by real history (that’s not normal) but it’s rathe LOTR inspired as well. The little bit of fiction I have written is original.
Do you feel God has called you to be a writer/poet? I think He has given me an ability to write, and I hope to use it for His service.
Will you grasp "the power of the pen? For God’s glory, I want to try.
I also have some questions-
What’s a SAE?
What’s the story with all these characters- ghosts, villains, pirates (I ain’t got no oil! Honest!)? do you choose your own character (if you want one), or do people request would anybody like to be….?
So, my stories are coming soon…
Josh (aka, Homer)

Josh is here...
Posted in The Inklings
Hello, fellow Inklings… it’s Josh (also known as Spitfires, who awaits a name, go figure). Chezdak invited in here, so I’m looking forwards to this blog...
But I am wondering about this pen-name thing. What is the point of it? I mean, from what I’ve seen, they are more than just nicknames, they really are pen-names, as in your name when you are being an author on the Inklings? Is my understanding correct?
If they really are our pen-names, is it right to publish our stories under somebody else’s name? When we post on a blog, we are publishing them for the whole world to see, and we are posting them as somebody else who is a published author in their own right. I don’t mean anybody would take us to court or anything but it’s the same moral issue as copyright, and we should act on principle: if it’s wrong to publish them as hard-cover books under pen-names, isn’t it wrong to publish it elsewhere, even on HSB?
The other thing is that it seems to me to be counter-productive. As nicknames, they sound like lots of fun, but as pen-names, theses stories will go down under as “Homer’s” (that’s the name I’m considering) stories, not Joshua’s. We’re publishing them under a pen-name, so the pen-name gets the credit; the real us don’t, and this doesn’t help our own path to published-dom.
This is Josh, who’s also known as Spitfires, who currently needs a name (?!), signing off.
P.S. I am putting this under Members because I don't have a category to myself yet, but that will happen (we hope).

Important Announcement, Everyone Read
Posted in The Inklings
Hello everyone. Lemony Snicket here, and I have something incredibly important to say. Please, this involves all of the Inkings and everyone should read this.
We have had multiple misunderstandings, I myself being involved in one, and we must do something about it. Some have been rather dissaproving about all of this torture, and RK has helped by saying he won't close down the dungeon, but there will be no more torture.
Also, there has been many fights occuring in the c-box, which have lead to many misunderstandings. We have decided not to fight as well.
One more change we're making, there shall be no more spies. We are doing all that we can to make this an enjoyable place for everyone, and to have no more uncomfort as we have in the past.
We are making this into a safe, Christian environment for everyone, and we want to set a good Christian example to all who might be watching, and to each other.
And to those of you who have had your feelings hurt, or have been involved in a misunderstanding, I am truely sorry from the bottom of my heart, and I'm also sorry to everyone involved in the misunderstanding I was in.
Note from Laura Wilder:
Also, we have agreed to have no more Spyies, Strangers, Etc. Some av us (myself included) don't think it is verra funny. Sometimes, it's not nice to trick people. I confess, unshamedly, that I was the one who was frightend av "Spy". I, personly, have a hard time trusting people, for reasons that I wish to keep to myself. I am sure that others do not like these "jokes" either. So, no more Spies! Please. Thank you for understanding.
