Hello my long lost lovelies! I hath missed all of thee :)
Firstly I must apologise for being gone so much. I've been wrestling with finishing school for the summer (when do you get out?), working on 2 jobs, figuring out when I start my 3rd job (the Lord blesses me way too much - PRAISE HIM for these three sources of income!), managing an online magazine (message me for more info), art, and...I'm missing something, I know it, but I cannot remember.
So I've been pretty busy. I would love to know what y'all have been up to in my absence!
Guess what! So far I have TWO (2) people who wanted to subscribe to my blog. They sent me their emails and I added them to the notifications thingy...so now they get a spiffeh email whenever I post something new :) I feel so honoured and loved :)
Hmm...something else to say...well, I have a plot for this year's NaNo - technically it's between two plots, both based on dreams I've had. The first is about a princess who was cursed when she was a baby and was thus brought up in solitude within the castle walls, and when her parents finally let her out because they cannot hide the curse forever, she realises what it is. The curse: when she comes across a man that she would fall in love with sometime in the future, she was unable to touch him - she would go right through him as a ghost. When she comes across the one man she is going to marry, she not only cannot touch him, but if she tries, she turns into a toad until nightfall.
That would pretty much stink.
The 2nd plot: I haven't got a summary for it yet, but it's kind of like about a POW in another world. It's pretty cool...I'm leaning towards Untouchable though, and any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Both of them would be different from anything I've ever really written. There's pros and cons to each. For Untouchable, I would be writing basically a hopelessly romantic novel. Just so you know, there's more of a plot behind it than I gave you. But then again, with POW (temporary name), I would be writing something more action-packed with probably hardly any romance (if any at all), which is different than every other novel that is written. I've never written anything strictly action with this type of plot before, so that may be a fun experience.
UGH. I CANNOT DECIDE.
I need you! *points to you in an Uncle Sam way* (if you're not American, Uncle Sam...well, go here.)
That's about it for now. Don't forget, please comment and tell me what you've been up to and when you get out of school and please pleeeasseee help with my NaNo decision O_____o
You haven't been posted in too long. *laughs* You know it's funny, it was just yesterday I was looking at your blog thinking "Oh, she hasn't posted in a long time =(" I was gonna leave a comment, but for some reason I got distracted. Forgive me?
As for your nano, I'm afraid I'll be no help. = I just have to ask though, what's POW???
Untouchable sounds interesting, but yes. It'd probably a hopeless romance, but I do see some potential in it.
Also, can you add me to your mailing list? =D Have a great day!
Three jobs! You certainly are blessed! I was blessed with a babysitting job all summer, two days a week (which is wonderful for me). I only hope it goes through and the woman who asked me does not back out.... *prays* I may also get a job at a pet store one or two days a week, but who knows.
Woah! Both ideas sound pretty cool. Hard to decide, hard to decide. Untouchable sounds awesome, though it would need more plot, which you say you have. POW sounds cool too.... I dunno, it depends on what you want to write when NaNo comes around. I would mess around with the ideas more, see if they would really ever turn into something good.....
An online magazine?! Woah, that sounds cool! *is curious*
Have a good day!
Love,
~Anna
P.S Would you be interested, at all, in a summer challenge, a few months before NaNo?
Oh Svenja! You MUST DO Untouchable It sounds sooooooo cool!
*would chose the romance one, of course!*
*wants to read Untouchable right now. :D
Hmm, I get out of school sometime in June, I'm not sure when. As for what I've been doing, not much, really. Writing, texting, chatting, talking on the phone etc. etc.
Thank you! I need it...well, I WANT it to be finished by Sunday, which is probably, in all ways, impossible. *sighs*
Here is the detail post: http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/Daethia/680024/ If you have any questions, just ask me.
Well, seeing as I do not know much about POW, at this point, and you say that both are so very, drastically different, it is hard to lean one way or the other. Maybe you could do one for the summer challenge, and the other for NaNo? *doessna know*
*giggles* Sure, though I don't know if it would arrive alive! ;-) I hope I get it too. I want a ferret. *sighs* BUT, the babysitting gig did work out! I talked to the mum yesterday and she's all set for it! YAY!
Hmm, toss a coin! Seriously, toss a coin, and if you suddenly realise that you actually like the other one much better... well, you have your answer.
And if you're still stuck, maybe you could outline the plot of both of them (if you like outlining plots instead of winging it) and see what gives you more inspiration, more excited and more oppurtunities.
And the third option is, why not have your cake and eat it too! (If you can't eat cake, why have it?) Write up both stories and maybe you'll end up sidelining one story in favour of another.
Personally I'd lean towards the POW one. It sounds very exciting. Expanding your experience of different writing styles is a good thing. But then, I'm not the romantic sort. Perhaps I'm biased.
There. That was the only useful thing I've said all comment.
We Australians don't have summer breaks, we have about 10 weeks of school, then two weeks off, then a second term of 10 weeks school, two weeks off, etc. I think that's a better system as you refresh yourself regularly without getting too used to school-less days and struggling to readjust.
Anyway, we've been REALLY busy, with heaps of social commitments, birthday parties, more social commitments, church and other ministeries commitments, etc. One week of solid, uninterrrupted 6 hour school-days is starting to sound very nice.
Am I a lovely? I come to this fascinating blog and find a fascinating person rambling to who knows who...so think to mesel', I should get on the fascinating person's fascinating mailing list thingy so I could either find out terrible secrets about the fascinating person or watch the blackmail from the lovelies pile up in the form of comment.
GAH THERE'S COCKROACH ON THE KEYBOARD! *flicks it off and clears her throat*
It's been a Friday night of either writing or trying to procrastinate [and prevailing, I must say] from writing, but now it's 5:30, when I usually get up, and it's time to go to bed. Unless I get inspired. Which seems pretty moot, considering there have been about a zillion backspaced typos in this senseless comment sofar. *charming grin*
Weeeell...the first story idea...how would you stretch that out to a NaNo? Ain't sayin' it sounds bad, just skeletal, perhaps? And what ish POW? Is it some sort of code?
I liked the weird videos you posted, you should post more! *waves her arms around and scweams*
Oh. You'd mentioned my December NaNo novel, "Shaddai"? I think the Rodents shot my reply to you on the HTA board, so! It's an allegory about the birth of Christ based in a fantasy realm. I posted the raw draft here: http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/SaviouroftheLands/ and I have the final changes made out on paper, all there is left for me to do before I can stop worrying about it is to make the changes inna compy document. Woohoo. *weakly tosses confetti all around the room*
Oh, do you ever get on the chatzy NaNo thingy?
THREE jobs? Good gracious. What as?
God bless,
~PIP~
Ooh! Yayayayayay, I am a lovely! *dances happily* I've always wanted to be one! Now, since you're so kind, I might as well become a regular reader of
GN-I. Oh happy day!
Ha. Lots of things are inevitable here in the South.
Oh, that's nutin'! The latest Ive stayed up and then gone to bed, besides all night and then going to bed the next night, was 8:30. Me and Fridays just click.
Ah, Prisoner Of War; I knew I'd heard of the acronym somewheres but couldn't recall what it was for. Yesh, pleez do indeed give s'more details, it sounds fascinating.
Why thank you! I had a blast writing "Shaddai". And feedback would most assuredly be appreciated; I've had next to none.
I don't think I've ever done WLM, whassit like?
loverly15@gmail.com, ish mah email. *grinz* Now you have no excuse.
You work at a coffee shoppe?! How fun! I want to work either at one of those or at a bookstore. The pharmacy job sounds pleasant as well.
Hmmmm...well, in the video, you might sing the stupidest song you ever heard; you might prop the camera up somewheres and attempt a cartwheel; you might wander through the woods narrating a peaceful story and then have one of your brothers or something attack you and have a bunch of screaming; or you could do the POW info via video. That would be interesting. All really cheesy ideas but hey, it's your funeral. *sits back and grinz*
God bless,
~PIP~
I'm finishing up my classes at home for school. I still have four chapters of science left. And I just took my Calculus 2 Final last week, which went really well. So, I'm almost done for the summer, and I'll be in college in the Fall!
Wow you are really busy! Three jobs?! That's awesome!
Jun. 5, 2009 - *WAVES around a sign* NEW POST!!! please. NEW POST!!!! please. =~D

I hath decided. I want to read untouchable1!!!! Oh and you've written it, you must post it so that i can read it!
You have three jobs? Wow! That's great! *grins* I wanta see another video soon! Please! =~P@ me. I used the phrase
"I want" to many times. i apologize this is so short, but I must be off! To eat! YAYAYAY!!! *laughs and dances off*
I had one of those (rather insane) moments when I read this blog post and thought it looked familiar, and then couldn't remember if I had commented or not. Seeing as how I have not commented (shame on me!), I shall proceed to do so!
First of all, since you posted this like a month ago, I feel lame in saying that I got out of school the end of May. But there, I said it anyway.
Secondly, I love both those plots! If only you could do both of them! Personally, though, I think I like Untouchable better. You should totally do it!!! *grin*
You know, I would like to subscribe to your blog too. You know my email, so just stick it on the list!
I live in another world and am unable to stay focused on anything without spacing out. Plots and characters are basically the only things that go through my mind. BEWARE - DANGEROUS, SENSELESS THINGS AWAIT YOU SHOULD YOU READ FORTH. And should you read forth, you will discover the life of a sun-bleached blonde, fantasy-crazed, overly creative, medieval-obsessed girl whom nobody can really figure out. (I would turn back if I were you, but then again, is that not the beauty of curiosity?)
