Lila....this thing doesn't really have a title.

Written in love. Sealed with a kiss. By Sarah Abigail Caeton unless otherwise noted.

This is from my book that I'm writing...I'll probably rewrite this part again, but right now I'm consumed with trying to figure out what happens to the characters. I actually wrote this part several months ago....about four. And I wrote it really fast, so it isn't very good. But, I will be posting bits and pieces of my book every so often....

Lila glanced around the hallway and settled into a comfy chair with a sigh. Then she noticed the girl sitting across the wide space. She started to say something before she realized that the girl was crying. The girl suddenly looked at Lila, and Lila saw her eyes. Then the girl stood, and ran down the hall, sobbing as she did. Lila sat there until the secretary called out, "Miss...uh, Smallmood?"

Lila stood and walked into the room, smiling. "That's Smallwood, Mrs. Torrey, and thank you."

~

Brittney ran to class, and slipped into her seat seconds before the tardy bell rang. Composing herself, she settled in for a long period of English II. Someone knocked on the door, and Brittney's teacher answered it. Brittney relaxed and sighed, but quickly sat up after realizing her teacher had glanced at her. The teacher and the Principal's secretary murmured together for a moment, and suddenly, the teacher stepped back into the room, followed by a small, dark-haired teenage girl.

~

Lila stood in the doorway, and scanned the room quickly. She breathed in, trying to calm her fluttered nerves, and not quite succeeding. Then she saw the girl she had seen in the hallway, and contained her suprise quickly. Then, the teacher said, "Class, this is Lila Smallwood. She just moved here, and will be joining our school. We're very glad to have you, Miss Smallwood."

"I...Uh, thank you, ma'am."

"Very well, you may sit at the desk beside Chrissey...third row, fourth chair. Anna, you may move to the first row, seventh seat. Now, please open your book to page 20, and we will begin. Dustin, would you like to diagram this sentence for us, please?"

~

Lila slammed her locker door shut, and hurried down the hall to Algebra. She didn’t know how she would get through this day...everyone seemed to stare at her as she ran towards her next class, hoping the bell would not ring before she got there. She skidded to a stop, heart racing, and looked up to see a person blocking the hallway.

Dustin smiled, and wordlessly took her backpack from her hand as he accompanied her down the hall. Finally, breaking the embarassed silence, he spoke, "I’m very sorry, but Mrs. Torrey introduced you in such a rush that I didn’t catch your name..."

"Oh, my name? I’m Lila Smallwood. People never can remember it." Lila began, and finished with a smile. "But, I don’t recall your name either."

"My name is Dustin Thompson. I moved here last year-from Kansas." Dustin flashed a quick smile as he dramatically swept his arms forward. "After you, Miss Smallwood." Lila smiled.

The Valentine (Just the Beginning)

Written in love. Sealed with a kiss. By Sarah Abigail Caeton unless otherwise noted.

Faded and torn,

This little pink valentine,

So many memories, so many smiles,

Oh, they started here.

Loved and cherished,

This lacy pink heart,

It was all so long ago,

But still like yesterday.

Oh she remembers,

The day he gave it to her,

Embarassed and earnest,

But now she smiles.

Slowly she closes the chest,

Locks away the past,

And rises toward the future,

Knowing someday she’ll see it again

Poems. :P

Written in love. Sealed with a kiss. By Sarah Abigail Caeton unless otherwise noted.

This is a poem I wrote several months ago...it's actually talking about a spiritual battle-first between me and Satan, then between God and Satan.

Inside I feel broken

Inside you feel smug

Crying out in pain,

Rejoicing in my misery

You think you've succeeded,

Oh, you think you've won.

But, I'll stand in my misery,

Smile through the brokenness,

For I know I am loved,

And you know He has won.

And, another poem. ;D This one's actually about Gollum-ending with him in the Misty Mountains.

Full of darkness and deceit,

Lover of darkness beneath,

Gold enticed,

His heart was iced,

Kicked and beaten, even thrown out,

Every word given with a clout,

Beneath the Mountains,

Beneath the hot suns,

Darkness lingers there,

And it is Smeagol's lair.

Okay, I don't like the ending of that one. :) I might change it if I can think of something...

This is just a.... :P

Love is a riddle,

Love is a rhyme,

This poem's been written,

So please be kind.
