  • What's wrong with this scenario?

Tonight was my first night to play the keyboards with our Youth Praise Band. While playing, I suddenly realized this was sort of a "different" situation. Here I am, almost 40 and I'm playing in a band with two of my 12-year-old son's good friends.

Later at home I asked him "So, what do you think of your Mom playing in a band with your friends?" The look on his face was priceless.

My son's praise band leader keeps asking me to be a vocal coach. As if he does not get enough face time with me . . .

Well, at least my kids aren't in the band with me:-) Neither one of them has been interested in learning to play an instrument. I have been the accompanist in youth choir with Ashton, but that doesn't affect him too much since I'm not leading it.
