Cool Creation/Evolution Video for Kids

Today in science, we were reading about some of the "missing links" that have been discovered.  After reading the text, the kids and I did some online research.  Here is a neat video we found to help the kiddos remember some of the information about "missing links".

We talked about the discovery of Nebraska Man which consisted of a single tooth.  From this single tooth the Illustrated London News published a picture of Nebraska man with his wife.  It was later discovered that the tooth belonged to a pig.

We were particularly interested in Lucy who is one of the most famous finds.  Here is a free Video series about Lucy from Answers in Genesis.

I took this picture at the Creation Museum when we visited last May.

This is a copy of the fossil find for Lucy:

And here is the artist interpretation of what Lucy was like.  Of course it is being used to convince people that evolution is true.
Referring to the fact that people believe this stuff, Sis said "Mama, I'm sorry to say it, but that is just stupid." LOL!

We are studying geology this year and now we are talking about the other planets. The question "how do they (the scientists) know?" Keeps coming up. I am floored when we started looking into the whole subject there is little HARD science involved. I am teaching them the "standard" material but I am so glad that we can stop and talk about the whole issue from a Godly perspective not an evolutionary assumption. Keep up the good work mom!
God bless

Thanks for the encouragement. We also learn what is taught in public school and then we are able to discuss it from a biblical worldview. The current secular thinking is that if a parent teaches about creation, then the child won't understand evolution and therefore won't understand science. You can understand something without believing it to be true. Of course, we know that evolution has nothing to do with operational science.

About Me

Welcome to our blog. We are a Christian homeschool family of five. I have been married for nearly 16 years and I have 3 beautiful children. The baby has "named" us all so let me introduce you. I am Mama and my husband is Na Na. Our oldest daughter is Sis, age 9. Our son is Bubby, age 8. Our youngest daughter is HaHa, age 2. I created this blog as a way to keep in touch with family and friends and let them know what the kiddos are up to. I also hope to find encouragement and to be able to give some as well. I am not new to blogging but I new at running my own blog. If I appear clueless, it is probably because I am. Anyway, I hope you enjoy our blog. May the Lord bless you and keep you, may He make His Face to shine upon you and give you peace.
