Jun. 26, 2007 - posting pictures

I currently have my pictures on shutterfly.com, but cant figure out how to post them from that website. I'm curious as to what you all use to post your pictures. I'm not sure which way works best. And If you have a Shutterfly account and post from there I'd love to know how you do it.

Yes, I know I'm quite computer retarded. But I'm trying! ha, ok maybe not that hard but I want to try. :)

thanks for the help

I dont know why but I cant seem to post pictures any more :/ oh well. I gotta go. I'll be  back soon, I promise!

Mar. 29, 2007 - please pray

My friend's mom was in a terrible car accident the other night. She was coming home from his lacross game and a drunk driver was in her lane a few cars ahead coming straight at them. The driver hit my friend's mom (Ms. Debbie) and another car before hers. While Josh was at the hospital he saw a kid that he plays lax and football with. after talking to him they figured out that the kid's mom was the drunk driver that hit Josh's mom. Please pray for both families. They havent told her kids that she was drunk so I'm sure there's a rocky road ahead for them. Ms. Debbie has fractures in her left ankle and dislocated toes on her right foot. She's not walking yet but please pray that she has a quick recovery. She owns her own business and cant take much time off of work.

thanks

hi everyone:) I just realized the links to the pictures I put up last time didnt work so i have to figure out how in the world to get pictures up! it seems like everything I try just doesnt work... but I'll work on it!

sorry this is so short :\ I have to finish reading My Antonia for am lit tomorrow. Has anyone ever read it? I'm really enjoying it. There isnt really a plot or climax of the book. but its written really well. Its by Willa Cather. I would equate it to a more sophisticated Little House on the Prarie book.  Well I'd better get reading!

Last month, my volleyball team went to Ohioh for a huge tournament. It was our first tourney as a team and we didnt do so well, but we had SO much fun!!! The next weekend, my parnts and I went to Florida to visit my oldest bro who goes to school there... that was alot of fun too and a really nice break from all of the wintery mess up here.  So, after that life was pretty much normal, [really busy!] Oh, and 2 weekends ago, after a few more practices, my team got 1st in the Silver division of our next tourney.

Jan. 22, 2007 - writers block

it snowed!!! finally, we got some snow. It snowed almost all day yesterday... =D not much stuck, but it covered the ground... so hopefully i can get out and go snowboarding sometime soon since we dont really have to worry about it being too warm...

so< I cant seem to come up with anything creative to write about... :| so, here's a poem I'm memorizing. I have to say it tomorrow in american lit. yes, I'm still memorizing it... lol

Ars Poetica

by Archibald Macleish

A poem should be palpable and mute

as a globed fruit

Dumb

as an old medalian to the thumb

Silent as a sleeve worn stone

like the casement ledges where the moss has grown

a poem should be wordless

as a flight of birds

A poem should be motionless in time

as the moon climbs

leaving as the moon releases

twig by twig the night-entangled trees

Leaving as the moon behind the winter leaves

memory by memory the mind-

A poem should be monionless in time as the moon climbs

A poem should be equal to:

not true

For all the history of grief

An empty doorway and a maple leaf

For love

the leanging grasses and two lights above the sea-

A poem should not mean

But be

hmmm, wow almost all by memory... pretty good =D well, hopefully i'll come up with something  more interesting next time...

Hey guys:) {and girls} I would really encourage all of you to stop by and consider doing the survey... It really does help to know just what guys [that care] actually think about how we [christian girls] dress.
C*

Introducing: The Rebelution's Modesty Survey

“How tight is too tight for tops? Are jeans with holes in the thighs immodest? Is a purse worn with the strap diagonally across the chest a stumbling block? Are shirts with messages across the front distracting?”

Join other Christian young men and women in TheRebelution.com’s new and exciting project: The Modesty Survey — scheduled for launch on January 8th, 2007. The Modesty Survey features hundreds of modesty-related questions from Christian girls to Christian guys. It’s the discussion you’ve always wanted to have.

Real Questions From Christian Girls

One of the most exciting aspects of the Modesty Survey is that the questions weren’t authored by just one or two people. Instead, hundreds of Christian girls from around the world have anonymously submitted 360+ questions about everything from glitter lotion and painted nails to swimsuits and skirt slits.

Though the questions will be edited for clarity and consolidated to reduce redundancy, the Modesty Survey will strive to faithfully represent all of the topics that were raised by the submitted questions. We are confident that through this survey Christian girls will find the answers they are looking for.

Honest Answers From Christian Guys

The anonymity of the Modesty Survey allows young men to be honest about how immodesty affects them, and a built-in screening mechanism will guarantee that girls only receive feedback from Christian guys who care about modesty. This is an excellent opportunity for godly men to serve young women who are without fathers or brothers to advise them in this area.

On the flipside, this is also an opportunity for Christian young men to educate Christian women regarding our inner-battle so that they won’t unwittingly contribute to our struggle. If you have ever wanted to tell a girl to go put on a sweater, this is your chance to do so — anonymously.

Target Launch Date: January 8th, 2007

On Monday, January 8th, 2007, the Modesty Survey will be open to the public. In the meantime our Survey Team is hard at work making sure that it is the best survey possible. As always, our goal is to not only do the right thing, but to also to do so with excellence.

The Illustration Wing, headed up by Sarah Harris (our sister), is wrapping up their search for (appropriate) photo-illustrations of obscure items of clothing referenced in the submitted questions. This will make it 100% easier for the guys taking the survey to understand what is being asked.

David Boskovic, our entire IT Department, is programming an incredible survey system with a secure (anonymous) login process that will keep track of which questions each participant has answered and which ones they haven’t. This means that no matter how many times someone logs in-and-out they’ll always be able to pick right back up where they left off.

Help Make It Happen

Please pray for the Modesty Survey. We want each step of this project to glorify God. Pray that our team will use wisdom and discernment as we craft the survey, that God would bring the right young men to take the survey, and that we would be able to present the results in a powerful way.

Help us spread the word about The Modesty Survey. Feel free to tweak this post and republish it on your own blog or send it as an email to any friends who you think would be interested in observing or participating. Also, you can place a snazzy sidebar ad on your website or blog.

it seems like it rains here EVERY friday. I have classes on fridays, and it seems like every week, it rains!  I dont mind rain, actually I love rain. I love laying in bed listening to the rain at night.  I dont like rainy days though, when its cold and grey out...

If it would just get a little bit colder all of this rain we've been having would be SNOW! that would be amazing. but no, instead, we just have a whole bunch of rainy days... hmmm :\

time for practice :D I'll come comment everyone when I get a chance...

Jan. 8, 2007 - I'm Back!

hey guys! I'm back.... miss me?!

So recovery took way longer than I expected, but considering my face was about to pop, I thought I'd take it easy for a few extra days... I've missed coming on but I'm back now, and I promise I'll try to up date [alot] more than I do... that shouldnt be too hard since I dont right now... :]

Last night was my first practice since I've been 'back'. I'm so sore today and probably could have waited untill wednesday to get back on the court, but I missed it alot.  My head was spinning most of the time, but it was worth it.. I set ALOT! It's definately looking like I'm gonna be 2nd if not first setter... =)  We worked on jump serves last night too, I must say, I suprised my self... I'm really excited about this season, and I cant wait untill i'm 100%.  Oh, and we're definately going to Ohio in a month...  So thats the volleyball news...

Hmmm, lets see, my bro left on yesterday morning not so bright, but early to go back to FL, It was good to have him home for a little while. We went out to lunch on saturday, for some bro/sis time... that was fun. We both love sushi so thats what we had!

but I'm an assistant cheerleading coach for upwards [a christian basketball ministry my church is involved in] and saturday was our first game... My squad is the 4th graders...  They're SO cute!

I have spanish early in the morning, so I'm going to head to bed, but I promise I'll be back soon:) sorry this is so sparatic and kind of crazy, I'm still a little out of it, and it seems as thogh my life has been pretty sparatic lately... lol

unitll next time... ADIOS AMIGOS

Dec. 16, 2006 - urgent prayer request!

I'm not sure how many of you know HersheyKiss7344, but they left yesterday to drive to Florida to visit their Grandma, go to Disney, and to meet up with Rach's family.  early this morning, their van flipped causing injurys to most of the family.  Their precious baby boy Jesse who was born last month passed away earlier today.  Sarah, her older brother, one younger brother and one younger sister were admitted into the hospital, the other 6 kids and parents were released.  Please remember to keep the Garvey family lifted up in prayer as they grieve the loss of their new baby, and recover from injuries.

Dec. 7, 2006 - my brother is coming home and club ball

So, first things first. My brothers flying in today!!! I'm so excited. He'll be here for a month... it should be fun :] We got our new guest room all set up last night.  I'm looking forward to decorationg the christmas tree tonight too! I have cheerleading practice tonight[I'm a coach for Upwards] but when I get home we're going to get the house all christmassy!

Second, I had my first club practice last night! It felt so good to get back on the court!!! My hip hurts alot from sprawling, but I cant really do anything about it... in a couple of weeks I'll get used to it again... lol I'm excited about the season, but there are 2 other ds's [defensive specailists] so it'll be some pretty stiff competition. My dad and I are thinking if I work on my touch I might be able to set a little bit, because right now we only have one setter and she's brand new... who knows! I have practice tomorrow night so I'll let you know how it goes...  oh, we came up with a team name last night too... we're the Wild Blue Fierceour coach [coach Z] wants us to go the the early bird tournament in columbus too! I'm excited... that should be fun...

Nov. 25, 2006 - Encouraging....

ok, Backround... This pas August my oldest brother Carter moved to Florida to finish school... He has also never really been interested in going to church on his own...

Last night my brother txted me asking if my dad was awake, I thought it was a weird question, but he wanted to call and talk to him... so he called and they talked for a while, after they hung up I asked my dad what that was all about and he just said that Carter wanted to talk because he is feeling really lonely, and home sick.

So I looked up a local church he's mentioned [but has never attended] and some verses I was just going to txt him the refrences, but I decided to call him. We have never been that close, because he's 7 years older than me we've really just always had the 'big brother' 'little sister' relationship. And I think now that I'm older things arent like that as much, so last night was the first time we actually talked about life like as friends not just as siblings.  I am so thankful to God for that specail time we had and that we could really talk to eachother.  I'm excited to get closer to my brother now and really be able to talk to him and encourage him in becoming closer to Jesus Christ.  I am also SO thankful to God for putting this lonliness in Carter to make him want to visit this church *tomorrow*!

He's coming home for christmas break in a couple of weeks too! I cant wait to have him back  :)
