FOR TODAY

Outside my window...it is another yucky day.  The temperatures are nearly in the 40s and it is raining a bit.

I am thinking...making more Christmas candies.  last night I made Divinity, and although Coy LOVES it, I am not happy with the recipe.  So, I will be trying a new one soon.

I am thankful for...the pain in my tooth being relieved.  I have never felt such pain as a toothache gives.  The pain wasn't nearly as awful with the three csections I had as with this toothache.  I have an appointment Wednesday for a Root Canal.  All the people I have spoken with have done their best to assure me that a root canal is just like having a filling done - I'll let you now what I think of it later this week.

From the learning rooms...We are still reviewing the continents, and learning a bit about each one and the counties in them, but we are also begining to study the United States.

From the kitchen...I found a bread recipe which I am super anxious to try.  You make the dough and leave it in the fridge until it is needed, pinch off the size loaf you want, and let it rise and bake it....sounds easy.

I am wearing...I'm bumming today.  I think I am getting lazy these days.  I used to wear only jeans, but now I am favoring lounge pants.

I am creating...still working on the Longies for Sarah.  I had to rip out the 5 rows I had done and restart, because somewhere along the way I had reversed my direction, so I ended up with part of it haveing 5 rows while the other part had 4.  Since I am not used to knitting, my fingers go numb and my thumbs cramp, so I try to knit a few rows every day to strengthen those muscles.  And of course, I have other projects I am working on.

I am going...to the Dentist Wednesday, and we would like to attend a local church's Christmas Pageant on Friday, weather permitting.

I am reading...Continuing my studies in the book of Daniel.

I am hoping...PRAYING for God to work within me and quench this temper I have.  This I think is my biggest error - to loose patience at the end of the day.

I am hearing...Coy is in the dining room journaling and making silly noises, while Garrett is somewhere outside playing.

Around the house...I cleaned off the bar in the dining room today, and the drawers in it.  I must have thrown away over 30 pieces of paper - old bills, scraps from the kid's crafts...shameful to let a mess pile up like that.

One of my favorite things...how excited a child gets when they have something 'important' to tell you.

A few plans for the rest of the week: the dreaded Root Canal, knitting, sewing, organizing my bedroom.

Here is picture thought I am sharing...this is a picture of Coy and Garrett, taken last week when we all rode out to gather the live bait Calvin caught in a small pond.  All in all, he has over 200 shiners in a rubbermaid container in the basement.  He will use these to go ice fishing throughout the winter.

Blessings,

Hope
