Finally...and update!

Posted in Good Times!!

Hello, my peeps!

It's been a loooong minute since I posted a "real" update.

Ok, first things first. Vegas was the BOMB!!! Such a wonderful time of relaxing and quiet time for me. The kids had a great time (except for my grandma raising cane about the cleanliness of her house...he he).

Lets see if I can recap the trip. We left Colorado at 7:00 on the money. I was excited about that because that was the time I was going for and we did it! The trip there was nice. It was dark and the kiddos were chillin AND getting along, I might add.

We got there in record time...7:30am Pacific time (we gained an hour)!

It was so nice to see everyone!

Friday, Kevin and I hung out together (yes, we took advantage of being gone while the kids were in safe capable hands). Later, we went to Del Taco for some grub.

Saturday, Grandma BBQ'ed and everyone came over...well not everyone, but some of the family came. GOOD FOOD!!!...lip smackin good! We had ribs, chicken, steak, collard greens, chitterlings (aka chittlins), potato salad, cake, and pie. (you hungry yet? *pumps eyebrows*). We stayed up late and talked to Mama.

We went to M & M World on Sunday before Kevin had to fly back home. It was fun. We went the last time we were in Vegas, but I didn't get any pictures, so it was nice to go again. The kids took pics with the M&M's and bought M&M's. We watched the M&M movie. It was cute! Later that day we went to my favorite mexican resteraunt...Macayo Vegas ( I think they changed the name to just Macayo's). More good food!

Monday, I was supposed to take Kevin to the airport, but he could get a flight out (flying standby). So, he and Destiny and Sara went and hung out. They found a Mango Man...the dude on the corner that sells Mangos...mmmmmm...de-lish. The mango's from the guys on the corner are better than the ones we buy in the store. Go figure.

Tuesday I took Kevin to the airport. He made it home safely. I was sad to see him go, but he had to work. The girls and I went to the store for some shoppin. Isaiah wanted to stay home and wait for my nephew to get home from school (gotta love homeschoolin). We just hung out at the house the rest of the evening.

Wednesday, we met Elissa at CiCi's for their group field trip. We took a tour of the kitchen. It brought back memories for me because my first job was at Pistol Pete's Pizza 20 years ago....ahhhh...I'm gettin old!...oh well, such is life. We ate pizza and went back to Elissa's and spent time with her family. The girls clicked with her oldest son. Sara had plenty of toys to play with. Isaiah and Elias played video games. She is a wonderful lady!

Thursday, we didn't do anything. I needed to rest.

Friday, my mom made enchiladas!!...seventh heaven!! I took the kids to see my stompin grounds...my elemntary schools, high school, neighborhoods I hung out in, places my friends lived, stores I frequented, places I slept when I was homeless, me and dh's favorite park...you get the picture. After sitting in traffic for 2 HOURS, we finally made it home to eat those yummy enchiladas! After dinner, I took the kids and my nephew to the movies. We saw College Road Trip...good movie. I was restless that night, so I talk Mama into coming with me to the Santa Fe where we tried our luck at poker (yes, I gambled and no, I'm not going to hell for it :o)). We only took $20 with us. My uncle was a little "put off" because we didn't wait for him, so he met us there at about 11:30pm.We won, we lost, we had a blast spending time together. We talked about the stuff we used to do together. It was so nice reliving the good memories with her. I realized then how much I really missed her. I think we got home at 1:30/2:00am.

Saturday, I took the kids to the Venetian Hotel for some modern Italian culture (if that's what you wanna call it). They saw a gondola and replicas of the buildings in Italy. I wanted to ride the Gondola, but it was a little pricy(sp.). We also went to the Bellagio to see the conservatory, but they were working on it when we got there :o(

Sunday, Grandma and Mama were leaving for church and the wind was blowing. Grandma couldn't breath. She had to HURRY and get to her breathing machine for a treatment or she might have ended up in the hospital again. It was a scary moment for everyone! She was ok, but she didn't go to church because of the wind. I guess it wasn't meant to be. I was also supposed to go get Kevin from the airport, but that never happened because of the weather. We were planning on leaving Sunday night. We relaxed for the rest of the day. It was nice!

Tuesday, I picked Kevin up from the airport and we came home and packed up to leave. We left at 3:00. It was sad leaving *lip poked out*.

The trip home was pretty good. Everyone was tired and I think was due to the altitude change as well as the outrageous amount of pollen in the air. Here is a pic of the pollen that had fallen on Grandma's car (it's not dirt...I promise):

We finally made it home at 6:00am Wednesday.

God blessed us with this trip!!

It's a shame the Bellagio Conservatory was being made over when you went..its so stellar! We love going there and seeing the fabulous things they create!

Hope to see you again soon
