I didn't realize I have been MIA!!!

Posted in Good Times!!

Wow it's been over a week since I posted anything!

Ok, after Isaiah's B-day, Destiny had a b-day. We were supposed to go to Idaho Springs to see some friends, but that didn't happen. So we went to breakfast and then she just chilled out for the rest of the day. She made her cake and made a number 14 out of the candles since Daddy forgot the decorations. She was very surprised that she received gifts since she was under impression that she wasn't getting anything because of her behavior, but Daddy took that opportunity to explain to her that God doesn't bless us based on our behavior, but He blesses us because He loves us. She received 7 cd's, 2 books, and a digital camera. I loved seeing the excitement on her face! It was a good day!

Since she likes The Sims, I thought this frame was appropriate.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY.......

ISAIAH

10 years old today!

Today is my sons birthday. He's not having a b-day party or anything seeing as how we have been celebrating his b-day ALL weekend. First, on Friday, we went to Jester's, where they have All You Can Eat Crab and Prime Rib Buffet. Then yesterday we went to the Harlem Globe Trotter game and bought their memorabilia. Today, he invited a friend over and tonight we are having pizza, cake and ice cream.  He is going to make his own cake. So that will be fun for him. I will post pics of his "Kitchen Adventure" later tonight or tomorrow.

If you stop by, please wish him a Happy Birthday.

Hugs,

Tirzah

This is just a very short video clip

After a week of spiritual warfare, stress, tears, and drama, this was a MUCH needed time of fun and laughter. We had such a great time!

Those guys were a TOTAL crack up! My cheeks hurt so bad from laughing and that was after just the first quarter!

Finally...and update!

Posted in Good Times!!

Hello, my peeps!

It's been a loooong minute since I posted a "real" update.

Ok, first things first. Vegas was the BOMB!!! Such a wonderful time of relaxing and quiet time for me. The kids had a great time (except for my grandma raising cane about the cleanliness of her house...he he).

Lets see if I can recap the trip. We left Colorado at 7:00 on the money. I was excited about that because that was the time I was going for and we did it! The trip there was nice. It was dark and the kiddos were chillin AND getting along, I might add.

We got there in record time...7:30am Pacific time (we gained an hour)!

It was so nice to see everyone!

Friday, Kevin and I hung out together (yes, we took advantage of being gone while the kids were in safe capable hands). Later, we went to Del Taco for some grub.

Saturday, Grandma BBQ'ed and everyone came over...well not everyone, but some of the family came. GOOD FOOD!!!...lip smackin good! We had ribs, chicken, steak, collard greens, chitterlings (aka chittlins), potato salad, cake, and pie. (you hungry yet? *pumps eyebrows*). We stayed up late and talked to Mama.

We went to M & M World on Sunday before Kevin had to fly back home. It was fun. We went the last time we were in Vegas, but I didn't get any pictures, so it was nice to go again. The kids took pics with the M&M's and bought M&M's. We watched the M&M movie. It was cute! Later that day we went to my favorite mexican resteraunt...Macayo Vegas ( I think they changed the name to just Macayo's). More good food!

Monday, I was supposed to take Kevin to the airport, but he could get a flight out (flying standby). So, he and Destiny and Sara went and hung out. They found a Mango Man...the dude on the corner that sells Mangos...mmmmmm...de-lish. The mango's from the guys on the corner are better than the ones we buy in the store. Go figure.

Tuesday I took Kevin to the airport. He made it home safely. I was sad to see him go, but he had to work. The girls and I went to the store for some shoppin. Isaiah wanted to stay home and wait for my nephew to get home from school (gotta love homeschoolin). We just hung out at the house the rest of the evening.

Wednesday, we met Elissa at CiCi's for their group field trip. We took a tour of the kitchen. It brought back memories for me because my first job was at Pistol Pete's Pizza 20 years ago....ahhhh...I'm gettin old!...oh well, such is life. We ate pizza and went back to Elissa's and spent time with her family. The girls clicked with her oldest son. Sara had plenty of toys to play with. Isaiah and Elias played video games. She is a wonderful lady!

Thursday, we didn't do anything. I needed to rest.

Friday, my mom made enchiladas!!...seventh heaven!! I took the kids to see my stompin grounds...my elemntary schools, high school, neighborhoods I hung out in, places my friends lived, stores I frequented, places I slept when I was homeless, me and dh's favorite park...you get the picture. After sitting in traffic for 2 HOURS, we finally made it home to eat those yummy enchiladas! After dinner, I took the kids and my nephew to the movies. We saw College Road Trip...good movie. I was restless that night, so I talk Mama into coming with me to the Santa Fe where we tried our luck at poker (yes, I gambled and no, I'm not going to hell for it :o)). We only took $20 with us. My uncle was a little "put off" because we didn't wait for him, so he met us there at about 11:30pm.We won, we lost, we had a blast spending time together. We talked about the stuff we used to do together. It was so nice reliving the good memories with her. I realized then how much I really missed her. I think we got home at 1:30/2:00am.

Saturday, I took the kids to the Venetian Hotel for some modern Italian culture (if that's what you wanna call it). They saw a gondola and replicas of the buildings in Italy. I wanted to ride the Gondola, but it was a little pricy(sp.). We also went to the Bellagio to see the conservatory, but they were working on it when we got there :o(

Sunday, Grandma and Mama were leaving for church and the wind was blowing. Grandma couldn't breath. She had to HURRY and get to her breathing machine for a treatment or she might have ended up in the hospital again. It was a scary moment for everyone! She was ok, but she didn't go to church because of the wind. I guess it wasn't meant to be. I was also supposed to go get Kevin from the airport, but that never happened because of the weather. We were planning on leaving Sunday night. We relaxed for the rest of the day. It was nice!

Tuesday, I picked Kevin up from the airport and we came home and packed up to leave. We left at 3:00. It was sad leaving *lip poked out*.

The trip home was pretty good. Everyone was tired and I think was due to the altitude change as well as the outrageous amount of pollen in the air. Here is a pic of the pollen that had fallen on Grandma's car (it's not dirt...I promise):

We finally made it home at 6:00am Wednesday.

God blessed us with this trip!!

Preparing...

Posted in Good Times!!

Yep, it's almost that time...yaaaaaaaa! We are outta here Thursday evening and we will be back around the 16th. I know we are going to have a great time visiting my family. Everyone is excited! It been almost 2 years since our last road trip. My grandma is making us a good ole granny style dinner...mmmm...I can taste it now. I asked Mama if she made chittlins, but it's a no go this time (grandma has some breathing issues that can get pretty bad, so standing to clean chittlins wasn't an option). She IS going to make some collard greens, baked mac and cheese (not the stuff in the box, but from scratch), dressing (from scratch), sweet potato pie, lemon cake, and carmel cake. I don't know what kind of meat we are having yet. I CAN'T WAIT!!!

I decide to throw a little school in the mix. I found something called "Family Trip" at Simply Charlotte Mason The kids will have a chance to record their trip...the route we take, the states we go through, journaling, taking pictures, and keeping a budget. It's simple and they can get creative with it if they'd like.

Pray for us as we travel.

God bless all of you!

Hugs and Smooches!

I found out what Hoops for Kids was....

Posted in Good Times!!

We had a fantastic time! They had all these tables set up...sight, hearing, smelling, tasting, touching. There was also a table for the Police Dept, one for the Fire Dept and one with sevice dogs. We learned about all these different things...very good information!

Then we went into the auditorium and watched a BASKETBALL GAME.....WOOOOOO HOOOOO! It was some team called the Colorado 14ers. They played the Vipers (don't know where they were from). I thought the 14ers were going to lose...they were behind like 3-11 points through out the whole game. In the last quarter they finally started catching up, but it looked grim. With 20 seconds left on the clock, they were behind 5 points. Somehow they scored a couple of times tied the score. So we went into over time. To make a long story short... someone shot a 3 pointer and we went into a second overtime. FINALLY, we pulled up and stayed neck and neck with the opposing team. Brother Brown shot the winning points!!! We won, we won We shot the bebe gun...they lost, they lost they ate the apple sauce...that's an old song we used to sing when we won a game.

Hoops...

Posted in Good Times!!

So, those that know me, know I am NOT a morning person. I don't usually get up until about 9 or 10am. However, today I have been up since 6am...no I am not running a fever, I checked... I have a good reason though...

...we have a fun day scheduled at 9:30 (hence the 6:00 wake up). It's called Hoops for Kids. It's a...ya know, I don't really know what it is...I just know it involves basketballs, safety, kids, and free lunch for the kids. So we are going to have a great time!!

Have a WONDERFUL DAY!

Hugs, Smooches, and lots of Love!

6 yr old cute...

Posted in Good Times!!

Ok, so my 6yr old wanted to take a bubble bath. That was fine. After being in the tub for about 10 minutes, she gets out and comes in here...wet, wrapped in a towel and says she forgot one of her toys. That's ok too. She comes back in here after 2 minutes with a little plastic rootbeer mug in her hand to show me a bubble that had formed on the top of it (she was proud of her bubble). The funny part is that instead of wrapping the towel around her like she did the first time she came in here with panties on, but she was soaking wet and so were the panties. Well, after I gave her the oooh's and ahhh's about the bubble, she switched her little butt back in te bathroom and got back in the tub, like it was no big thing...It was SO CUTE!

My son did something awesome...

Posted in Good Times!!

So I got up this morning and saw one of the carnations, that my hubby bought me, on the floor next to my bed. My first thought was 'my son was in my room trying to get his gum while I was sleeping and accidentally knocked the flowers on the floor' So I got up to inspect. Then my 5yr old says "Mommy, I got a flower." I was like "wow really?" I look in the girls room and they had flowers too.

Something caught my eye leading out of the back room. There were potpourri petals leading to the front room. My next thought was 'my husband is feeling the love'. I come into the front room and on the table are 3 place setting with cereal, water, enzymes, a banana, and a note card that says Princess for the girls. My place setting was at my computer with all of the above plus coffee and my note card said Queen. I was like WOW. Then my son goes, "Do you like it?" "Yes" "Good cause I did this." I was like . He was smiling and happy. I was still in shock. It took a minute to settle in. I loved on him and hugged him . It was so sweet. So he says he is going to make lunch and dinner (we're having hotdogs) tonight.

I'm so proud of him!

(This is extra special because I have had nothing but trouble with him for the last month. So Praise God!!)
