"Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves
also with the same mind, for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased
from sin, that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the
flesh for the lusts [desires] of men, but for the will of God."
1 Peter 4:1-2

CAPTURE Your Uniqueness
Write about or list several ways that make you or your family unique and/or different. Ponder a while as though you were an outsider looking into your family home and envision 'how' they might see you uniquely made through Christ. Does something set you apart that immediately shows that you are a child of God? Share!
Extra Credit: If you have a digital camera, CAPTURE this unique description in a photo. If you don't have a digital camera, you can be creative and search the internet for a picture that will depict this image.
Wow! What makes us unique?
I think first and foremost we are seen as different, by the world's standards, because of our hope and faith in Jesus Christ. We strive to serve him with all of our hearts, minds and souls and are not ashamed of our relationship with Him.
Second, I would have to say that, because we are quite a large family, with baby #6 on the way, we are seen as unique. People often look at me like I am crazy, especially after I tell them that I homeschool too! What can I say, my husband and I enjoy our children and have fun with them, but see the value and importance in raising them in a way pleasing to the Lord. Even our closest friends would say that we are unique in the fact that, in the 7 years that Ray and I have been married I have mostly either been pregnant or nursing! Hey, it's what I do best!!
Third, we love to have people in our home... Parties, get-togethers, overnight guests. Our house is your house.
And last, our children are well-behaved! My husband and I go out to eat with our children and I often take all them with me grocery shopping and on other such errands... We are a large family, with a set of twins in the mix, so people gawk!! So often we have had perfect strangers approach us to ask about our kids or, more specifically, the twins. When the initial shock passes after they realize that, yes, they are all ours, they comment on how well-behaved they all are. It is truly sad that well-behaved children are not the norm, but it is expressly due to the fact that we are training them in obedience and godliness!
