Apr. 23, 2007 - A Sunshiney Day
Since we had such a busy and fun-filled weekend, I decided that today we wouldn't do many studies inside, because I wanted to try to recuperate...
Rest and relaxation is not an option when one has five little monkeys running all around, so we headed outside to get some fresh air and spend some time basking in the beautiful Spring sun.
I instructed the kids to begin pulling weeds - not a necessary activity, since our backyard is nothing but dirt, but one that I was hoping would keep them busy for some time. Well, not but a short time after beginning the task did Ethan and Zach try to make a competition out of it... Go figure. Boys are just competitive by nature! It became a great game to see who could create the biggest pile of pulled weeds. Even though there were slight disagreements about what constituted the biggest pile - the tallest or the widest - the plan was a success!
Until they began to find earthworms, ladybugs and other creepy crawlies, that is! They were now completely enthralled with God's wonderful creation - the kind that creep and crawl - and they completely lost interest in the game!
Oh, but we talked all about those little bugs... I just didn't touch 'em!!
