Jun. 1, 2007 - An Interview
At the beginning of May, Janet, from Tuininga Treasures *interviewed* me... Here are the five questions she asked, with my answers (finally):
1) How have you been refined as a mother over the years?
I have always wanted to have children, lots of them. Looking back, I believe that the Lord gave me this desire at an early age so that I could be "in training" all along. Little did I know, growing up, that helping to care for and nurture my four younger siblings would prepare me in such a huge way for having my own crew!
In having children I have grown in so many ways. Before I had kids I thought that I was a pretty patient person. Boy, was I wrong!! God is continuously stretching and molding me, as I try to respond and react to my children with godliness.
I have developed a new sense of trust, too, over the last 7 years... I know that God is in control of every situation and having kids has truly caused me to trust in Him for protection and provision.
I have also learned, first hand, that the joy of the Lord IS my strength. Without Christ on Whom I lean, I could not manage so many young ones, without going crazy! Having six children, ages six and under, will definitely be challenging (having only five is challenging!), but with the Lord working through me, I know that I can do anything!
2) What is your favourite way to cool off in the summer?
I would have to say that being in, or close to, the water is a favorite! All of the kiddos love to play in the water... at the beach, by the pool, or even just playing in the sprinklers. Since I will be in my last trimester, during the hottest part of the summer, we will most likely be in the pool most every day!
3) Are you a fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants person, or a "list maker" person?
I am totally a "fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants" kind of person! I try to make lists, but the only lists I find successful are grocery lists! For us, especially with so many little ones, I find that flexibility and spontaneity work best.
4) Where is your favourite place to be, and why?
My absolute favorite place to be is in my husband's arms. With him I feel protected and loved, worry and stress free. With him I can be myself.
5) Name three things you LOVE about your husband.
I just posted 13 things I love about Ray, in honor of his birthday. Here are the top three:
1. He loves the Lord with all his heart, mind and strength
2. He is a true leader
3. With him I always feel safe and protected
For the rest you'll have to read the post!
If you would like to be interviewed, you can email me or leave a comment here, after which I will send you five questions to answer on your blog. Sound like fun?? It is!!
