May. 20, 2007 - Sunday Seven

This week has been kind of a crazy week...
Good, but crazy!
1. We returned last Sunday from our action-packed vacation, just in time to celebrate my Mother at my parents house. All of my siblings (except my brother Nick, who is currently finishing his last few weeks at Cal Poly) and their little families, were there to shower Mom (aka Mimi) with love, hugs and fun gifts. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner, but were exhausted by the time we headed home!
2. Ray didn't have to go back to work until Tuesday, so we had a full day to recover and try to adjust to being home... Sleeping and eating schedules were so out of wack, and we all just needed down time, so it was nice for everyone to just be home.
3. Since leaving our church home of 7 years, when we moved, Ray and I had not been able to get involved in another small group Bible study. Our good friends, Steve and Jen, live close by (just around the corner, in fact), so we decided to meet with them every week to study God's Word and sharpen each other. Right now we are going through the book of Hosea... Very interesting book! It is so nice to be able to study the Word with another like-minded couple. We love Steve and Jen and are excited about being able to see them regularly again!!
4. Wednesday was our weekly Park Day with my sisters, their babies, and a few others. This week was very warm so the kiddos spent most of the time in the play creek and waterfall, having a ball! We had Julia's friend, Mackenzie, along with us for the day. It is good for Julia to play with and be around other little girls, since she is always around so many boys!
5. We celebrated Julia's birthday with Mackenzie, Dylan, Daniel and Marisa on Thursday. The girls decorated foam purses, while the boys decorated foam visors, with stickers and pens. These were a hit! Marisa and I painted to kids' faces and we had cupcakes. It was fun to have a little party for Julia with her best friend and nice to visit with Marisa while the kids played.

6. Ray's parents were here this weekend for birthday celebrations. They took us all out to dinner at the Outback Steakhouse on Saturday for Ray's birthday. (His birthday is on the 24th.) They are quite a hoot and so entertaining! There is never a dull moment when they are around!
7. This afternoon we had a big birthday celebration for Julia. Being a favorite of Julia's, Princess Jasmine was everywhere with us today... on the cake, on the walls, on the plates, cups and table. Family and friends were here to celebrate her life and shower her with love and attention. Typically Julia loves to be the center of attention, so she was in heaven! We are so blessed to have so many people around us who bless us greatly and love us so dearly!
Sunday Seven is a weekly meme for
giving thanks and/or for noting important events in our lives.
