The last few days have been scorchers here in sunny Northern California - It was 108 degrees Wedesday and yesterday, and it's supposed to get up there again today! It is just way too hot!!
Can't say that I get anything done when it's so hot. We've been staying indoors as much as possible, enjoying our cool house. The kids have been doing alot of reading, coloring, drawing and watching TV (uggh!). I just don't seem to have the energy to do much.
I've been trying to stay off my feet as much as possible... I had some pretty strong contractions last night and am still feeling lots of pressure, but just haven't felt I should see my doctor yet. It's all pretty normal, I think. You would assume that I would know by now, seeing I've had five babies already, huh? This pregnancy has been so different than most of my previous pregnancies, though... I'm just not sure.
Anyway, I'm off to read to my kiddos for a bit...
What is the temperature where you live? What are you doing to stay cool and keep your kiddos busy this summer?

| It's been in the low 90's here. We have two a/c units and they go most of the afternoon. We also have been having fun eating frozen fruit, especially bananas and grapes. I'm lucky that my dh gets home at 4:30 and he likes to have water fights and play in the sprinkler. Hope your tempatures come down soon. |

| Hey girl! I've been away for what seems to be forever! Well, I'm back, at least for a little while. Oklahoma summers are usually 100-110 and VERY humid, but oddly enough with the weather across the rest of the nation, this year has been WONDERFUL! We are still in the upper 80's low 90's and today is the first day I haven't seen rain in like the past 3 months! Such a blessing! A real switch from last year's drouts here! Of coarse...people are complainers. It's very frustrating to me. It so reminds me of the Children of Isreal when Moses led them out of Egypt....no matter what, the people complain. All last summer it was, "Oh it's so hot, we need the rain so bad or the cattle are all going to die for lack of water." this winter it was " we're so sick of the snow and ice!" "This summer it's were so tired of the mud and rain, yuk!" I just try to pray every day that God would continue to send it. I thank Him for it and pray that he would forgive our people for such a complaining heart! Congrats! You're almost there. I'm so sorry I haven't gotten your present in the mail yet...you know, the one I started and was supposed to send like 2 months ago. Well, It's setting in my bedroom...almost done. It's something very small that normally takes very little time. It's just something that I enjoy doing. I have been easily distracted with things here lately and just keep procrastinating! Sorry! I have been having TONS of little contractions and have been pretty uncomfortable. Nothing alarming and nothing steady. I did the same thing with Noah. I have not by any means had a hard time with the pregnancy, but feel much bigger. Most of the discomfort is at night. However, I LOVE being pregnant...just knowing the joy that is coming and being able to talk to people who think Anna is still baby enough and that I am absolutely crazy. I love it and think I will love it every time! Well, Hope to see you soon at my blog! Talk to you later! |

Wow, 108! thats pretty hot! I would probably stay inside as well. Is it humid there as well? We have been in the low 80s lately. There has been a few summers in the past, where we rarely got in the 90s. But we tend to be very humid here as well, so the air gets really thick.
We have been inside most this week, due to rain. Kids have been building forts out of my living room furniture and blankets. Keep them busy for quite a while. When its nice out, we like to go to the lake or the playground.
I hope you are feeling better. |

You try to keep taking it easy - that little bun needs to cook for another month. I dislike using the TV too but sometimes it's necessary if you need to get some rest. It's usually too hot & sunny here to play outside from 10 to 2 in the summer so from 10 to noon is when we school and after lunch we try to avoid watching TV for as long as possible.
Drink lots of water! |

My parents just got back from visiting my aunt down in Yuba City, and they said it was 105 when they left! It hasn't gotten that hot up here in Oregon. The highest it has gotten was around 86. Today is even cooler than that.
Stay cool down there!

It's about 98 degrees and super humid. We are staying in the house or going on the occasional swim (early in the day). Then, there's the library too! Any place with air really. LOL!
I came to scope out my Summer Swap Partner! :-)
Love,

With all of the toys, books and school stuff filling our home, it tends to looks as if it is void of any order. In reality we are very systematic in the way our main parts (each family member) are connected, so as to form one whole unit (our family), thus creating "organized chaos".
