Sep. 20, 2007 - I love my job!
Do you ever feel completely overwhelmed by your role as a mommy, teacher, nurturer, spiritual trainer, and tangible example of God's love? I certainly do.
I was thinking about these six beautiful little lives with whom I have been charged to watch over and train, and how much they lean on me and look to me to fill their every need. Wow, what an awesome responsibility!
The most weighty of all of these responsibilities is teaching my children how to love God and live for Him. As I was re-reading parts of To Train Up A Child I came across a section on how children see God in their parents. The following quote really stuck out for me, simply because I needed to be reminded that I am human! "A child learns of the character of God through observing his parents. Parents don't have to be perfect, just a balanced representation of God's personality. Everything that God is in character and government, parents should display within the limits of their humanity. Parents need not be all-powerful, just the child's source of strength. They don't have to be all-wise, just wise enough to guide the child and warrant admiration. Parents need not be sinless, just demonstrate a commitment to goodness."
I so need God! I am extremely grateful that the Lord will supply all of my needs, that He will give me the wisdom to raise my children for Him, and that He will give me the strength I need for each moment of the day.
Sure, just the sheer knowledge that I have such a huge responsibility is utterly exhausting, but I have to admit that I have the best job in the world!!

I've read and own to Train a Child as well. It has many good points. I'm not too sure about switching my kids though. I know it is out of love but seems so cold. I took alot of great points from it though.
I love my job too.

Sep. 21, 2007 - God is funny |

o.k so my last comment may have been confusing.
You see...I read a book called To Train up a child by Michael and Debi Pearl.....It was a little more stern.
I was at Goodwill today and what jumped out at me on the book shelf??? Train up a Child!!! The one you are reading. So for .50 I purchased it.
Isn't God funny? He knew I was mistaken and knew I needed to pick up the right book ;)

With all of the toys, books and school stuff filling our home, it tends to looks as if it is void of any order. In reality we are very systematic in the way our main parts (each family member) are connected, so as to form one whole unit (our family), thus creating "organized chaos".
