Oct. 21, 2007 - A Huge Surprise!
Saturday started off as a very busy day... Ray headed out early to pick up a steam cleaner to clean our incredibly dirty floors in preparation for the twins birthday party next weekend. (Ethan and Zach turn 7 the 24th!) While Ray was cleaning the carpets, I organized rooms, cleaned my kitchen, and dusted. I pretty much cleaned the entire house, with the obvious exception of all of my laundry!!
The floors needed to dry, so we headed out to lunch, ran a few errands, played at the park, and then came home so the little ones could take a much-needed nap. While we were out, Ray called some friends of ours to see if they wanted to hang out that night, maybe get dinner. Of course, because they love us so much, they said they would meet us at The Macaroni Grill - Our favorite!!
Now, most of you know that I am turning 30 on Thursday. (I guess I figured that if I talked about it a lot I may not actually think about it so much!) I half expected to be surprised by a crowd of people at the restaurant to celebrate my birthday.... What kind of surprise would it be if I expected it! Of course that didn't happen, but we did enjoy a very nice dinner and always have fun with the Schuchards!
The guys went off to get a movie, while Mindy and I headed home with all the kiddos. As we pulled in to our driveway, I noticed my neighbor on her front porch. I stopped to chat with her for a few minutes, and show off Baby Noah. I handed Julz the keys to take to Mindy, so they all didn't have to wait in the cold for me, and they headed inside.
I entered the house a few minutes later and was greeted with a huge "SURPISE!!" and a house-full of my family and good friends!! They got me!
I could not believe that a huge surprise party was planned and thrown for MOI!
Thank you Ray, Sara, Mom, Al, and Mindy for all you did to make my birthday super special!! I love you guys!
Oh, Ray prides himself on the fact that he got me to clean the whole house for my own party!!
