Tuesday, Day 2

Tuesday, Day 2, we went to Fair foods for the whole day. so when we got there, we got to sort through tomato's and separate the bad ones from the good ones..it was pretty fun..then probably around 10:30 or 11:00, they took my and my friend Rachel upstair to work with a girl named Anni, and we got to put clear coats of paint on these huge flower boxes with her. it was AWESOME! Anni is now our new friend, and we exchanged email addresses and write back and forth alot.

After our worksite, we had our normal debriefing time.  and then tuesday evening..i can't remember exactly what we did...i'll have to update this one when i remember....

Wednesday, Day 3

Wednesday, day 3, we went to a cemetery and did different things, such as: pulling branches and piling them up, trimming bushes, cutting down dead trees, mowing..its the 200th year anniversary or something for the cemetery or something...i don't know..but it was really old and overgrown and stuff, so we were just fixing it up. it was really cool..and like, one of the girls from my youthgroup sprained her ankle there, and is now on crutches for a while. thursday she went to the hospital and they gave her an air cast.after that, we had Dinner Downtown, where we got to go down to Quincy Market with just our own youthgroups. for dinner, we went to the Purple Shammrock, and it was really good...then after that we had time to just walk around Quincy Market and shop..it didn't buy anything..i was looking for something to bring home to give to Sally, but didn't find anything...then, wednesday evening, they split up both of the groups (N.H. and P.A.) and half of them went to a place called starlight, and then the other half, i was in this half, got to chill at G.M.C.C. (the place we were staying) and play games and stuff..we all went out for ice cream..it was fun.. so then yea. that was pretty much wednesday...

btw, sorry its taking me so long to get all the days up here..i've been really busy and such..

Thursday, Day 4

Thursday, Day 4. shower day again. so here's how the day went:

got up. went to the YMCA and got my shower. went back to the church. had breakfast. after breakfast, we had U-haul it again..after U-haul it, we went to a park for our challenge time..after our challenge time, we split up and went to our work sites. Thursday i went to the Salvation Army Jubilee House, where we cleaned and organized a old, moldy barn that stank really bad. at first, i was like 'oh joy. it stinks. i hate it.' but then, we made it fun..so even tho it stank, we had fun! we left around 2 and went back to the church for a little bit, then headed to the T (subway) to go to the Boston Common for our spontaneous service. there they explained what it was, and we split up into small groups, my group consisted of: Myself, Josh F., Tanya, Rachel, Tim (our youthleader), and Brandon, the staff..we couldn't think of anything to do, so after a while, we just sat down and prayed together. then we met a guy named Mannie, and we talked to him for a good long while. we gave him a New Testament bible. after that, we met a guy named Jerry, he wasn't very talkative, but we talked for a little bit. we gave him a pair of socks, and i felt like god was putting it on my heart to give to him something that i was very attached to, my watch. but, despite the fact that i was attached to it, i obeyed, and gave it too him. (which, that sunday at church, i received a gift from two of my best friends, a brand new watch!) then, in the evening, we pretty much just chilled..talked..got pictures..etc..

so that was thursday!

Friday, Day 5, our last day together with the boston project staff and then group from N.H.

so friday we got up, finished packing our bags, ate breakfast, had U-Haul It, had a time to worship God in song, had our Challenge time, then it was our good-byes and picture time.

we had a 9 and a half hr drive home..it was long..i cried for a while..then i fell asleep before leaving Boston, and i slept from 11am till 2pm..then i bought myself some vault, and we listened to country music and me and Brandon danced..

we got home at like..8:30 that evening..i went straight out and played with Sally..i missed her soo much!!

(ok, so what i'm doing, is going through the week backwards so that way when you read it, it would start at day one first...it might take me a while to finish all the days tho...)

a short update..

hey everyone..sorry i haven't update in a while..i'll explain in a little bit.. first, i just have a question..i'm thinking about being a Defense Attorney, and i was wondering if anybody could tell me if there's some kind of courses or something i can study during highschool to build a foundation for that career? if anybody knows, please let me know! Thanks!!

now i shall explain why i haven't written for a while: i went on vacation and then the i came home last saturday night from vacation, and then 5am on that sunday morning i left for my missions trip to Boston, MA which was AMAZING!!! i had a blast..God really stretched me, and i learned so much, and i've brought it home with me so i can serve my community now..a couple of us are probably going to volunteer at the Rescue Mission in the city down here..so, pray that that would all work out well if its in Gods plan for our lives.

update about Neal:  well, they haven't found anything yet..he has lost 10 more lbs, and still has alot of black and blue marks...before, they said he had something on the back of his throat, but now they said thats not there any more, so thats really good..his mom is going to take him to a specialist now, and see if they can find anything..if they don't find anything there, then they are probably going to have a P.E.T. scan done, and that would cost a whole lot of money..so if you guys could continue to just pray for him and his family, i'm sure they would appreciate it, and i would really appreciate it too..i've been worrying about him alot, and praying for him and stuff..

uhm..i had something else to say..but now i can't remember...maybe i'll think of it later...i'm really tired right now, i just got home around 8:30pm last night, it was a 9hr drive home from Boston..maybe more..i'm not sure..i'll go more in detail about the boston trip later on tho, i promise..

              God Bless You All!!!!

just another update..

Hey everyone! Hows everyone doing? good i hope! I just thought i would update about some stuff:

Sally: well. that night, most of the swelling went down, except a little bit in her eyes, and alot on her right jaw. by morning she was back to herself. now she's just on meds for the next couple of days..till friday i think. i took her off the benadryl, since the swelling is gone and she's better now, so now she's on Prednisolone till friday. i figure i'll save the benadryl incase she gets stung by a bee again.

well, everyone whose in the crew to go to Boston is getting really excited! I know some of us are ready to leave now. I want to leave now, but at the same time, i don't, because then i'm gonna miss Sally too much.

21 day challenge: still going great!! today was day 9. I'm soo proud of myself! i still have 12 more days to go, and by then, it should be a habit. (which, it already is becoming a habit, lol)

well. yesterday was our last meeting for the Boston trip. After we were done, we all went out to some pizza place for lunch. then after that i got home at like..2:00pm, and then i had 15mins to play with sally before i had to leave again for Mary's graduation party. and then when i got home from that, i just played with sally for a while and mowed the grass..

oh guys. i got something great to share with you!! My friend Vikki, she isn't a christian, spent the night on wednesday night,  and like. we were talking, and i was telling her about the 21 Day Challenge. and guess what!! She said she wants to take it!! so i said as soon as i get my little book things, i'll give her one and she can start. so like. she called me yesterday and asked if i got them, and i said i did, and i said next time i see her i'm gonna give her one! i'm soo happy that she's going to take the 21 day challenge!!

yesterday, at church, we had a group called The Zambian Vocal Collection come to our church (you can check out their website: www.zambianvocalgroup.com , they have some samples of their music on there) and they were AMAZING!!! oh man. they are awesome. they are raising money for all the orphans where they come from. i thought that was soo cool! i was going to buy one of their CD's, but i didn't have any money, so i got one of their cards that have their address and website on it so i can order it later on when i get money. I can't wait till i get the CD! they were AMAZING!!

wow..i guess i had alot to say..lol..i could go on some more, but i think i'll stop for now.

   God Bless!!

Sally...

So like, today, we went to my grams house, and when we got back, i went out to play with Sally, and her whole entire face was swollen!! i gave her some benadryl and then called the vet, they made us take her in, and then they gave her 3 shots, 2 on her back, and then 1 in her vein. the swelling has gone down a good bit, but the vet said that it might take up to 24 hours..so i'm gonna let her sleep in the basement tonight..we think she might be allergic to bees, but it could be spiders, or ants, or really anything, i guess...man..now i'm in debt, too. the vet bill cost $67 bucks..oh well..atleast she's gonna be better...i hope..

just thought i'd update about that.

just an update..

so, not too much is new.. Tuesday night my friend Lisa spent the night, and Thursday we went Kayaking in the Susquehanna River, and we had a blast! we were in 2 person Kayaks, and let me tell you. team work is VERY VERY hard, but we made it, and we did really good! it was for a Field Trip. Before we went Kayaking, one of the Naturalist took all of the group for a "creek study" where we looked for Macro Invertebrates, and then we just discussed them and stuff like that..it was pretty fun..then we had a break for lunch, and then we went Kayaking..now sure how far we went, but it was a long way down, and it was even harder going back UP the river!! We seen 2 Bald Eagles, a Turkey Buzzard or whatever that thing is, and an Osprey.

then, she went home around 6:30pm, and then i picked up my friend Vikki and we went to youthgroup, and then Vikki spent the night last night, and today we went to the retirement community around 11:00am and we visited a whole bunch of people, helped serve drinks, and took walks with the residents. it was fun! I love volunteering there!

now..i'm sore from kayaking..and i'm extremely tired for some reason.

Today was day 5 of the 21 day challenge, and the results are amazing. I still have a long way to go, and i'm not even close to where i want to be, but i gotta start somewhere! i think i'm doing pretty good.. and OH!! Vikki isn't a Christian, and so like. I've been praying for her and stuff, and I've been praying that God would use me to witness to her, and so like, i was telling her about the 21 day challenge, and she said she might want to do it!! man..i am soo happy!!

my neighbor brought my check home today.. my first check!! man..i worked 3 saturdays, and only make $45 bucks!! that's so not even worth it. if the store calls me, i am so going to work there. i think working there would be kind of better for me, because then i don't have to pay mom for gas, cause its like..2 minutes down the road, so i can just ride my bike or walk..i'd be making alot more money, and working more hours..things are looking better there..but i really enjoy housekeeping..so if they'll hire me at BB's, i think i'm gonna take it....i hate to leave the motel so soon, but...it's not worth it.

          God Bless!!

some stuff someone said to me at work..

So like, last saturday while i was working up at the motel, some of the people that are also in housekeeping were talking about church (none of these people are christians) and like..the one girl was saying how she used to go to church, but she doesn't like to wake up that early every week, and like..they all know that i'm a christian, and she was like 'Jane, you should start a bible study kind of thing here! like after we're all done working you could give us a sermon and stuff' and then they were all like 'yea! that's a great idea! you should do it!'  and i would so love to do that! but i don't know very much about writing a sermon, and i'm not a pastor..i would really like to help them tho..so like..then i was thinking maybe i could try and get a bible study going..but then i couldn't think of a topic...and stuff..does anybody want to help me with this? like, can you think of a good topics or stuff like that..whatever..?

  Thanks!!

God has some amazing things planned for us this year. there is 16 youth going i think, and like..5 leaders going..We're going to be sleeping on a church floor..working with homeless people.. all kinds of cool stuff..

21 Day Challenge..

Hey everyone.. so like, i'm taking this really neat 21 Day Challenge, and i decided to share it with you, incase any of you would be interested in doing it.

so like..the 21 day challenge is by JoyShop (www.joyshop.org) and like..your supposed to read 1 chapter a day for 21 days, (and if you didn't already know this, it supposedly only takes 21 days to make a habit...) and like..they gave us these little pocket testaments (www.pocketpower.org) of the book of John, and what your supposed to do is (you'll need a notebook or journal for this):

Ask for God's Spirit to reveal his truths to you.

Read one chapter a day...

then after your done, go through these 4 steps on paper:

1. What verse spoke to me? Write it down word for word.

2. What did this verse tell me about Jesus?

3. How do I apply this today?...What does he want me to do?

4. Write a prayer of response to God

in the Joyshop video, it also covers praying the scripture, and i just think thats really cool! to be honest with you, i really didn't understand what they ment by praying the scripture at first, but then in the video they showed you how and everything...it was pretty neat. (if you don't know how to pray the scripture, i would tell you, but i'm not sure if i would be able to explain it very well, so maybe you could ask my mom, her blog is stonyhillhomeschool)

so yea. i thought that was a pretty neat challenge, and i'm taking it. and i decided to share it with you guys so you have the opportunity to take the challenge too..

 In Christ,

      -Jane

P.S. this is only my first day, and i can already see that its making a big difference..image the change that will take place after 21 days!!

men and women who mocked God

hey guys. i got another thing in the email today, another really interesting one, thought'd i'd pass it on to all of you!:

JOHN LENNON:
Some years ago during his interview with an American Magazine, he said:
"Christianity will end. It will disappear. I do not have to argue about
that. I am certain. Jesus was OK, but his subjects were too simple. Today
we are more famous than Him."(1966)  Lennon, after saying that the Beatles
were more famous than Jesus Christ, was shot six times.

TANCREDO NEVES:
During the Presidential campaign, he said if he got 500 votes from his
party, not even God would remove him from Presidency.  Sure he got the
votes, but he got sick a day before being made President; then he died.

CAZUZA:
During a show in Canecγo (Rio de Janeiro) while smoking his cigarette, he
puffed out some smoke into the air and said: God, that's for you.  I can't
even explain how he died.

THE MAN WHO BUILT TITANIC:
After the construction of Titanic, a reporter asked him how safe the
Titanic would be. With an ironic tone he said: "Not even God can sink it"
The
result: I think you all know what happened to the Titanic.

MARILYN MONROE:
She was visited by Billy Graham during a presentation of a show. He is a
preacher and Evangelist and the Spirit of God had sent him to preach to
her.

After hearing what the Preacher had to say, she said:
"I don't need your Jesus"
A week later, she was found dead in her apartment.

BON SCOTT:
The ex-vocalist of the AC/DC. On one of his 1979 songs he sang:

"Don't stop me; I'm going down all the way, wow the highway to hell."  On
the 19th of February 1980, Bon Scott was found dead; he had been choked by
his vomit.

CAMPINAS/SP IN 2005
In Campinas, a group of friends, drunk, went to pick up a friend. The
mother accompanied her to the car and was so worried about the drunkenness
of her friends, she said to the daughter - holding her hand, who was
already seated in the car: "MY DAUGHTER, GO WITH GOD AND MAY HE PROTECT
YOU."
She responded: ONLY IF HE (GOD) TRAVELS IN THE BOOT, COZ INSIDE HERE IT'S
ALREADY FULL."

Hours later, news came by that they had been involved in a fatal accident.
Everyone had died, the car could not be recognized; but surprisingly, the
boot was intact.

The police said there was no way the boot could have remained intact. To
their surprise, inside the boot was a crate of eggs. None was broken.

Before the recent hurricane Katrina in New Orleans, we planned a gay
convention there. It was said to be the largest convention of gays ever.
Town officials were excited that it would bring money to New Orleans.
There was a gay website for the convention which showed there was a lot of
excitement. On the site it was stated, "This is going to be the biggest
thing yet for the gay community and not even God himself can stop us now."
Well, God did! Too bad some have to pay for others sins. That's why those
who really believe the Bible need to stand up. Romans 1: 26-32 and
Leviticus 18:22 speaks clearly about homosexuals.

Many more important people have forgotten that there is no other name that
was given so much authority as the name of Jesus. Many have died, but only
Jesus died and rose again, and he is still alive. JESUS!!!

P.S: If it was a joke, you could have sent it to everyone. So are you
going to have courage to send this?
I have done my part; Jesus said "If you get embarrassed about me, I will
also get embarrassed about you before my father.
What benefit does it have if a man gains the whole world but loses his soul?

What can man give in exchange of his soul? (Matthew 16:26)

For God so loved the world,
That he gave His only begotten Son,
That whosoever believeth in Him should not perish,
But have everlasting life.
John 3:16

May God Bless and Keep You

pretty interesting, isn't it..

a really neat poem...

Hey guys, this is a really cool poem!:

I AM A CHRISTIAN ~ By Maya Angelou

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not shouting "I'm clean livin."
I'm whispering "I was lost,"
Now I'm found and forgiven.

When I say..."I am a Christian"
I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble
and need CHRIST to be my guide.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak
and need HIS strength to carry on.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed
and need God to clean my mess.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are far too visible
but, God believes I am worth it.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I still feel the sting of pain,
I have my share of heartaches
So I call upon His name.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not holier than thou,
I'm just a simple sinner
who received God's good grace, somehow.

Share this with somebody who already has this understanding, as reinforcement.

But more importantly, share this with those who do not have
a clear understanding of what it means to be a Christian, so that
the myth that Christians think they are "perfect" or "better than others"
can be dispelled.

----------------------------

i got that poem in the email and i thought it was really neat, so i decided to share it with you guys. pass it on to all of your friends and family, as well as your enemies!
