Choosing Joy

• Feb. 2, 2006 - from my 4.75 yo dd:

I had my first "birds and bees" conversation with her - To preface this, we have not had much in the way of anatomically correct conversations in our home...

"Mommy, how did I come out of your tummy?"

me: "With a lot of hard work"

dd: "No, how did I really come out - did you have your tummy cut open?"

me: "Well, females have another hole in their bottoms...(and a few more explanatory words)

dd: "I came out of your BOTTOM??? It is a good thing I did not fall into the potty!"

and to correct her little sister, who said "You are still in your jammies" -

"No, I am wearing my jammy - I have a nightgown on!"

I just love their logic at that age! Thanks for sharing. It brought a smile to my morning.
